I don't know about the evil thing. It's conventional wisdom that the Earth will be burned and the oceans will boil when our star, the Sun, runs out of hydrogen and starts to burn helium at its center. The Sun will grow hotter as the energy generated at the center starts to resist gravity, which supports the Sun. The core begins to enlarge...eventually, the Sun becomes a giant and our poor little planet may become enveloped by it. The Earth then becomes toast. You can see this if you live another 2 billion years.
