When dealing with the antis, I tried to pattern my posting style after Max.
The style was one I wanted to emulate.
She kept the posts factual and ALWAYS backed her posts with proof. She didn't sling mud until someone threw the dump truck at her but then she caught it and threw it back.
She didn't denigrate anyone's opinion but tried to get the other person to change their point of view. She did always ask for proof of a factual statement though.

I wish that I had 1/10th the knowledge on the subject that Max had. Then I might be able to carry the torch in the manner she did.

That's ok...I got out of doing anything like that today....hubby just ordered me to stay away from all appliances....after the freezer door came off the hinges on top of me as I was getting something out for dinner.

I do what I can but, when it comes to knowledge of this particular subject, I know for a fact that not only was I not in the same category, I wouldn't even be measured on the same scale.
I was just now, after about three years, getting to the point where I could climb on the bottom of that scale.

Can't eat beef........mad cow.
Can't eat chicken........bird flu.
Can't eat eggs........again, bird flu and salmonella
Can't eat pork........fears that bird flu will infect piggies.
Can't eat fish........heavy metals in the waters has poisoned their meat.
Can't eat fruits and veggies........insecticides and herbicides.

Hmmmm! I believe that leaves Chocolate.

our friend and fellow FReeper Max McGarrity passed away this week.

I had not heard about that. I am very saddened to hear it now. Hang in there Gabz - I know how bad it hurts.

It's hard to believe that someone would take that opportunity to be cruel - but don't let 'em get to you. Those people are not worth wasting much time thinking about.

I had an experience with someone recently, whom I can only describe as evil. Everyone said "he'll direct his hate at the next person who crosses his path any day now, and forget about you"...which was true. But nevertheless, just being exposed to that vileness, left a bad feeling that took time to go away.

Anyway, I'm not too good at talking about stuff like this - but I wanted to let you know you're not alone and we're sharing this with you. I hope that you get to feeling better in the coming days and weeks.

CSM says it was revenge for me bad mouthing his favorite food --- Liver and onions----BLECH!!!!


The freezer door is heavy enough - but it was loaded with about a dozen quart freezer jars of soup........
