One night last summer, radio host Larry Elder beckoned his listeners to the Ha Ha Cafe in North Hollywood to film a documentary lampooning liberal film maker Michael Moore.

Intrigued, producer Eric Peterkofsky showed up for the night's comedy. He listened as comic Jeff Wayne headlined the event with right-wing jokes rarely heard in comedy shows.

This was my favorite part:
The first duty of proper Washingtonians is to demonstrate that they are smarter than whomever they happen to be talking about. It's quite easy to fulfill this mission when you are talking about the past. It's child's play for a salad-course solon who spent the entire 1990's ignoring foreign affairs to condemn the administration piously for not focusing like a laser beam on Al Qaeda on Aug. 6, 2001.

It's harder to be a smart aleck about the future, especially in regards to Najaf and Falluja, where none of the choices are good ones. Do the Baathists win a victory every day they hold off our siege? Or if we take them out now, do we undermine Sistani? We Klieg Light Kierkegaards will give you the right answer — three years from now, after whatever option the president takes has been judged and found wanting.

As Brooks said, "C'est délicieux!"

I have returned with an hour to spare. It took nearly $40 of gasoline to get there and back.

My bags are nearly packed. I need to run to town to refuel. I fly from CR to Chicago. Switch planes and then directly to Austin. I will sleep my way to Austin.

This is what a man looks like who likes to lure little children lost in the woods into his home and put them in his oven.

...or worse.

Candy, little girl?

Hillary will HAVE to step up and accept the dim nomination.

There is just no good DSM - AUS flight. We've flown on some of the most thrilling little planes, I cannot tell you.

Have a ball, but be safe.

I'm back from a long and fun day. A bunch of us WV and OH freepers met at a nice lodge east of Columbus for one of those "parties for the president," organized by WVNan. I'm sure someone will post photos. Three hours wasn't enough time to say all we wanted to say!

parties for the president

That sounds fun! Maybe we need to put some of our southern hospitality to work and arrange one of those down here on the "Best Coast".

I may have been wrong...

Lovely, just lovely.

More on the Vietnam, the butler and PB&J:

According to the Los Angeles Times, "in one 24-hour period," Kerry "invoked his service" in Vietnam:

*To fend off attacks by his Republican rivals;
*As evidence he will fight to expand healthcare;
*As evidence he understands the complicated landscape in Iraq
*To explain his love of peanut butter-and-jelly sandwiches.

That last one calls for an explanation: "His passion for PB&Js, Kerry told his companions, dated back to Vietnam, where he not only ate them frequently but traded them for other commodities."

This info makes me wonder if the Kerry's help has to put up with endless bloviations from Effin' about his VN days.

One more thing, Kerry traded PB&J? What, his mommy sent sandwhiches? Nobody else had access to PB&J? sheesh!

Never would never have imagined that Kerry could like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the horrors of the Vietnam War.

With all those atrocities Kerry was busy committing he needed some comfort food.

At the end of a long day on the ol' campaign trail:

Marvin the Butler: Good evening, sir. Could I get you a drink?

Effin: Roger that, my good man. I could use some hootch. And bring me a f*#%n' paper in my quarters...I want to see if the f*#*n' friendlies are covering up my fubars and suppressing the incoming like they agreed to. Did you hear that f*#*n' Algore sent me a memo about my long answers to simple questions? Oh, and check the driveway and make sure the f*#*n' SUV isn't visible from the f*#*in' street. Did I ever tell you I was in Vietnam?

LOL!

Have you noticed Kerry is incapable of looking enthusiastic?

More Mr. Excitement

Exit stage (you guessed it) LEFT.

Please, don't let Kerry get elected.

Bless her heart, hillary had to apply her own make-up today.

US Senator Hillary Clinton (news - web sites) (L), D-NY, listens as Indian Ambassador Lalit Mansingh (R) delivers remarks at the announcement of the first-ever US Senate caucus dedicated to relations between the United States and India at Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.(AFP/Paul J. Richards)

...US Senate caucus dedicated to relations between the United States and India

Do you suppose she came up with this caucus idea right after that awful joke she told about Ghandi running "a gas station down in St. Louis"?

Libs are sooooo transparent! I'm just surprised she didn't paint a dot on her forehead.

There's something unnerving about the posture of Kerry and Granholm, like he wouldn't stand quite that close if Teresa were around.

After my last post, our power went out for at least three hours, due to the electrical fire at a house down the street. Oh well, you have to get your excitement where you can find it in this little town.
