You're not the boss of me.

I assume your tagline is a quote from one of these wonderful dogs or cats.   ;-)

Dr. Phil could soon be sharing the Paramount lot with another doc: Howard Dean (news - web sites).

While everything's still in the early talking stages, the former Democratic presidential candidate is mulling the idea of hosting his own syndicated gabfest. He's hooked up with ex-Big Ticket TV topper Larry Lyttle ("Judge Judy") and longtime political consultant Gerald Rafshoon, who would likely serve as exec producers of a pilot for any such project.

Dean is in Hollywood this week, and he's taking meetings with execs at Viacom-owned Paramount Domestic Television. Lyttle is still based on the Par lot, and he's helping Dean make the connection with the studio.

Lyttle spent much of last year working as a consultant for another former presidential candidate, Joe Lieberman (news - web sites). He and Rafshoon are also in talks with several other Washington insiders about opening a bicoastal political consulting group; company will likely have a media unit that would produce a few projects per year.

But Dean seems interested in going in a completely different direction.

"The last thing we're going to talk about is politics," Lyttle said. "We'd talk about a myriad of other things instead of politics." More

Actually it came from my daughter when she was young, that's what she'd say to some of the bossy type friends. However, from some of the looks I get from my cats, it would be safe to assume they're thinking it.

I know my cat invites ever other cat in the neighborhood over when we're gone. What's worse is that I'm certain they take their fur off. I just haven't been able to find the hidden zipper.....

Bob Kerrey was on The Daily Show.

[snip]
Catapulted back into the limelight thanks to the mass murder of 3,000 innocent men, women, and children, Kerrey took advantage of his terrorist-induced celebrity to appear on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Now, it would be one thing if Kerrey used his privileged position to inform Stewart's younger audience of the gravity of the 9/11 panel's task. But instead, Kerrey yukked it up. First, he dished with Stewart about President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney's upcoming private meeting with the commission. When Stewart mocked the president's "buddy system," Kerrey guffawed: "He is bringing his buddy, that's exactly right, for safety." Emboldened by audience applause, Kerrey riffed that it was more like "Screw you, buddy." Asked by Stewart whether people were really blaming each other over the terrorist attacks during closed hearings, Kerrey snorted: "Oh, Jee-zus, yeah." More audience approval. (Taking the Lord's name in vain is always good for a few cheap laughs.)

Next, echoing a profanity uttered earlier in the show, Kerrey blurted out with a clownish grin: "Life is [expletive bleeped]." When Stewart proposed that Kerrey ask the vice president, "What the [expletive bleeped] is wrong with you people?" Kerrey cracked up and promised to use the question. And when Stewart called Attorney General John Ashcroft a "big [expletive bleeped]," Kerrey chortled some more.

************************

The part Malkin left out was how Kerrey condemed AG Ashcroft for pointing fingers at Gorelick.

I thought the commission's job was to find out why 9/11 happened. Silly me.

You're welcome!

I almost forgot! There's a war going on!

During a week when Iraqi war coverage has dominated the cable news shows and led the networks' evening news programs, newsman Ted Koppel said he thinks Americans need to be 'reminded' of what is going on in Iraq.

In a Friday morning interview, Koppel said that's why he plans to read the names of more than 700 American troops killed in Iraq on Friday night's "Nightline." Link

You've just been brainwashed by the Bush attak machine.

Taking the GOP Bait, Hook, Line and Stinker

There was a surreal moment at a serious Manhattan dinner party Tuesday night when 12 power players who had all been talking at once about the mess in Iraq suddenly fell silent to listen to the waiter. He dove in shortly after he had served the coconut cake with lemon dessert -- perhaps to give moral support to the only Republican present, who was beginning to flag. Or perhaps he just thought it might be helpful for the guests to hear from one of the Ordinary Americans whose unhappiness with the status quo they are in the habit of earnestly invoking.

"I'm from the suburbs," he announced, "and I'm voting for Bush."

[snip]
The Republican attack machine -- again -- has made the right calculation: Hit 'em with trivia. Bait the hook with the absurd "issue" of whether it was medals or ribbons that Kerry hurled over the wall when he was a 27-year-old hothead. Then watch the media bite -- they'll do it every time -- and let Kerry rise to it and blow it. Presto, a thrice-wounded, decorated war hero running against a president who went missing from the National Guard is suddenly muddying up his own record on the morning talk shows. Shades of 2000, when Bush jokily bowled oranges down the aisle of his campaign plane while Gore argued about whether he did or didn't say he invented the Internet. Whole juicy story.

Perusing the newspapers: Cindy Adams reports Camilla Parker-Bowles, longtime smoker, has lung cancer. PageSix says Teresa was seen dining in NYC with Alan and Melinda Blinken. He ran for U.S. Senate in Idaho in 2002. Apparently, he has as much connection to Idaho as Hillary had to NY, and lost to Republican Larry Craig.

MOBY HAD an indecent proposal for President Bush on Wednesday night at the WEDrock benefit for same-sex marriage rights at Crobar. (We can't repeat it here, but think Bill and Monica.) Also showing their support were Sandra Bernhard, Margaret Cho, Alan Cumming, Lou Reed and John Cameron Mitchell ... NY Daily News

WEDrock benefit for same-sex marriage rights

Benefit? Doesn't that usually imply asking for money for some charity? Why does the homosexual crowd need money for this? Homosexuals, per capita, tend to be much more wealthy than the typical American because they don't have kids to feed, clothe and educate!

When I preview this, I'm getting a hyperlink to the word 'sexual'. The first time it was marriage and it opened a wedding planner page. I have no idea what 'sexual' will open, and frankly I don't WANT to know! ;o)

I want to see Moby to voice his proposal for President Bush to these Marines.

U.S. Marines from the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force pose atop their light armor vehicle as they move out of their position near the town of Falluja, April 30, 2004. U.S. Marines handed control of Falluja to a former general in Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s feared Republican Guard on Friday in bid to end a month-long siege that has killed hundreds [Terrorists perhaps?]in the city and infuriated Iraqis. Notice how Ted Koppel wants to read the names of the 500+ U.S. troops killed in combat, just in case anyone hasn't noticed we're at war, but he and his cohorts at the major news outlets never mention how many (thousands) of the enemy we've killed? Gee, that might give people the impression we're actually winning, and we can't have that!

KERRY STUMPED John Kerry is on the campaign trail. Aides admit at a recent media event, he didn't throw a silver dollar across the Potomac. It was just a ribbon.
