NEW YORK -- Pop singer Britney Spears plans to marry her latest boyfriend, a dancer who is awaiting the birth of the baby he fathered with another woman.
''I can confirm that yes, she is engaged,'' said Sonia Muckle, a spokeswoman for Spears' record label, Jive Records.
Spears, 22, and Kevin Federline, 26, have not yet set a date, Muckle said.
The two began dating a few months ago, after Spears' whirlwind wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in January. That marriage was annulled within days.
Federline appeared in the movie ''You Got Served'' and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend.
He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson, of TV's ''Moesha.'' They have a 2-year-old daughter together and are expecting another baby next month.
"You both smoke, you both drink and you both cheated on significant others after three years," Jackson told Us Weekly last month. "You guys are made for each other. Have a good life."
Spears recently canceled her summer tour because of a knee injury she suffered during a video shoot. Her latest album, ''In the Zone,'' was released in November and has sold more than 2.6 million copies. AP

Pop-singer Britney Spears is taking so much criticism from her European music tour that she just had to be comforted by new fling (and soon to be father of two), Kevin Federline. Britney’s “people” also are telling publications that directly after one of her recent European shows, her and Federline stripped naked and went for a dip in the pool. If I was Britney, I would find that “aide” and fire their ass.
Of course, people would say and do just about anything for a little cash… wouldn’t you agree?
A lot of people are jealous of Federline. However, when they understand who this dude is, they should come to realize that he’s not all that. Apparently homeboy was evicted from his apartment a few weeks back. This apparently put him, and his then pregnant girlfriend, out on the street.

Jackson, now 8 months pregnant, has said Federline called her to tell her about the Spears relationship before she found out from the media. What a nice guy!
I'm worried about this girl. Her parents, in my opinion, have used her for their personal gain. She has no sense of judgement whatsoever. She has no self-respect. When she falls, she'll fall hard. And it may not be too far away.

BS (ha!) better get all the money she can now because "talent" like that doesn't last. She never appears anywhere that she actually sings, always lip sinked concerts, appearances, etc. Her voice is always accompanied by a LOT of music to cover her lack of talent. They would have you believe it is because she is so busy dancing that she can't sing but I think real singers have been able to manage it. She is a talentless stripper...about all there is to say.

I saw her in a TV special and couldn't help but think that she was thisclose to a suicide attempt. She seriously has head problems, along the line of a Marilyn Monroe type. I think she is a serious alcoholic.
I also remember seeing a picture of Brittany, her mom and her little sister sitting proudly at a table with a bunch of transvestites. Her parents should be ashamed.
