The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I don't get Monday off... and I have to do backups all weekend, so I can't go somewhere Saturday and come back Sunday, which I was actually considering.

We're playing both Saturday and Sunday, and I worked last Saturday...so I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, especially since work has been nuts. I really need this day off!

Dunno what I'll do with it. Just relax, most likely. And read.

OK, I have a whole twenty minutes before I have to drive back to campus for that class. Hmm...what shall I grab to eat?

*sigh* This is gonna take up pretty much all my current personal time. Tuesdays AND Thursdays, for much of the evening. And in the winter...driving back and forth will be interesting. But I have to let the dogs out...so I gotta do it.

If I use it well, though, I'll be all but ready for testing for Network+ certification when I'm done. That'd be awesome to have.

Samurai 7, to be precise. And I've got more of those for you, too. It's a nice change of mood, at least.

When you come visit we'll watch Fruits Basket. Wish it weren't licensed so I could get you a copy...

I still hope I can somehow rig a trip right before or after Entmoot - maybe fly into one place and back via another, and get a ride with you in between. We'll have to see.

My first priority is to get to Ben's wedding...then Entmoot, and if at all possible, I'd like to tag a visit to CO in with the Entmoot visit, which might actually work if the airline lets me use different cities as a part of a multi-leg trip. I did it once before.

I'll have a little more extra cash once I pay off the van in November. That'll help!

OK, gots ta go. See you around later!
