think he made some comment about kerry and within a few days the radio station changed its format and no longer needed his service.

Here is one opinion of the situation and why she left WWL?

I had not heard she had left. I did not listen to her often but I thought she was a good voice for New Orleans.

Here is another blurb

Thursday, August 26, 2004ANDRE "RESIGNS"
New Orleans...
>Former WWL and WGNO news anchor Andre Trevigne has abruptly "resigned" from WWL radio. However, insiders tell us she was fired and "everyone 'in the know' knows the real reason." We will not get into the "real reason" here because it is Andre's problem to deal with. Trevigne has been battling "personal demons" since her son was killed 11 years ago, and apparently WWL management finally had enough. Trevigne anchored WWL's morning news with Eric Paulsen for nearly a decade, then went to work at WWL radio--hosting "Andre" weekdays 9-11 a.m. She was later hired by WGNO in 1994 to host a weekly crime prevention program called "Cease Fire." Then in 1996, she was named the inaugural anchor of ABC 26 News. She worked at WGNO and WWL radio concurrently, signing off on her radio shows "I'll see you on the news tonight."

Me too. I liked her and listened to her often even over here in Mobile.

I don't know what has happened to her; but, I know she will be missed. I haven't listened during her time slot since she left, so I don't know what is going on there. I can't imagine who could replace her on air. She had great sources and knew a huge amount of recent history regarding New Orleans. She was often times fearless and remarkably tough on local politicians and school board members. I hope she will be happy in whatever she does.

Unfortunately, I was on vacation when she was fired, but a friend of mine heard her that Monday morning, and said she sounded drunk. I'd love to know the rest of the story.

Personally, although she did a great job on local issues, she drove me nuts on national issues. She was rarely prepared or fully informed, and often had reactionary responses instead of reasoned ones.
