Did anyone else see CSPANN's coverage of Maureen Dowd's book party this past weekend. I was completely in shock and awed by the guests attending what was essentially a celebration of the publication of a book that bashes the President.
I've heard about the media elite and their manhatten cocktail parties but actually seeing one was truly disturbing. Seeing these people hug, laugh and interact with each other really showed the power of what George W. Bush is up against. The guest list included: Tim Russert, Chris Matthews, Judy Woodruff, Senior Democrat party operatives, a slew of news reporters with fancy titles like: cbs news senior political news correspondants and several of these people's family members. They were all identified with a subtitle by CSPANN.
At one point, Maureen Dowd was showing her guests political cartoons that obviously mocked President Bush. Seeing them laugh and laugh and hug and make inside comments was disgusting. And to top it all off, there was no shame that they were being filmed by CSPANN. We all know there is media bias, but seeing it up close and personal was disturbing.
He was probably dragged along by his wife Andrea Mitchell
You do know he's married to NBC's Andrea Mitchell...
-----you wouldn't have been surprised if you'd seen the hugs, etc., during the Clinton years---Greenspan finally married (a woman) late in life who "liberalised" him----
The usual suspects who lost any influence 4 years ago and won't ever get it back.
No wonder Uncle Allen has such a penchant for raising interest rates in (Republican) re-election years and an aversion to doing the same in Democrat re-election years.
Was Michael Douglas there?
*snicker*
Speaking of family and wives, the media is one of the most incestuous institutions in this country. The very people who clamor the loudest for diversity, are the ones who surround themselves the most with people who are all of like-mind. Hollywood is the other perfect example of liberal elites who don't adhere to their own standards.
The only consistent standard that I have ever seen among liberals is the deeply enshrined belief that rules are made for other people to follow.
Who cares.
