It was the DD-214.
Silver stars are only awarded for Valor, so a "V" device is redundant.
Making an issue out of whether or not Kerry should show a Silver Star either with or without one is so irrelevant as to distract from the legitimate concerns about his other awards and decorations and how he disposed of them (or didn't).
The SS+V is beginning to look like it is just an
error, one that Kerry has been too ignorant to correct
on the occasions when he has filed a DD215 to preen
his medal collection.
The records Judicial Watch did manage to get, show the
"V" on the Bronze Star, which is at least an actual
award, ignoring that the Kerry Bronze was a scam.
The big issues with the Silver remain, however:
a. Why are there three citations for it, the last
dated many years later, and completely disclaimed by
the SecNAV who supposedly authored and signed it?
The Navy is reportedly still looking into this.
b. Did the circumstances of the event, and the reports
filed on it by Kerry, merit an award, or a Court Martial?
The SBVFT may have some new evidence-backed statements
on this in the near future.
