The liberals are always too cute by half in debates.
Kerry refused to let go of the Presidents hand after the pre-debate handshake and greeting.
This forced the President to "pull away". You could see Kerry smirk as if he just got his first shot in before the debate even started in his attempt to get W. off-stride immediately.
I think F'n was just concentrating on how to pronounce Falluja and forgot to let go (and later forgot how to pronounce Falluja)
Why didn't Kerry let go after shaking hands?
Hes a little bit gay.
He probably was contemplating a "HUG".....but decided against it.....
Should someone remind him that we had 99% of the casualties on 9/11 and spent 99% of the funds to rebuild NYC after America was attacked? He just doesn't get it that WE were attacked and WE need to defend ourselves, not the U.N.
I saw an analyst on before the debate say to watch for just that from Kerry, evidently in order to emphasize Kerry's height advantage.
Creepy, I'll bet his hands were clamy too.
Yep, he wanted to prolong standing next to Bush to increase his puny stature.
I noticed also that kerry, towering in height over the President, when handshaking, was much closer to Bush than most men prefer to be to one another, causing Bush to look up into kerry's face--no doubt the desired effect!
I was waiting for the President to knock that one out of the park..........hopefully his campaign will start to use this rebuttal.
Like I said, it was preplanned....how juvenile.
Kerry offered his usual relentless attacks against the President and endlessly challenged Bush`s credibility. Fine. Kerry offered no valid alternative to Bush`s foreign policy. Just more of the same rhetoric he's been spewing for months. More importantly, the President lost an opportunity to drive a death blow into the Kerry campaign. He didn't. He wasn't focused like many of his supporters thought he would be. Kerry frustrated Bush and that made the President very defensive for most of the debate.
Having said that, I believe the debate was a draw. Let's hope the President does a better job next week.
What's with Kerry saying he wanted to be like a Regan man? Didn't he fight Reagan tooth and nail.
Kerry no doubt wanted everyone to get a gander at his superior height. An old, old psychological ploy.
Think about this statement: if a division is LEAVING Iraq, are they still COMMITTED to Iraq? No, they're not. So why scare the American people with a false statistic?
Yes, I noticed those scare tactics. Kerry was awful.
Kerry's mention of Reagan was an appeal to the old Reagan Democrats. Problem is most of the Reagan Democrats became Reagan Republicans and the rest is history. In the 1980`s, Kerry did oppose Reagan's massive military buildup and wanted a nuclear freeze. Kerry wanted to further appease the USSR. Reagan won the Cold War and the rest is history.
Did you just register at FR today, October 1, 2004??
