Freepers- I require some help. My parents (who I love dearly) have always voted Democratic. About 2 months ago, they decided they didn't like John Kerry because of his lavish life style. I just got off of the phone with them, and after last evenings debates, they have changed their minds. They have no internet or cable. The only news they get is from Dan Blather. I need some "simple" facts that can sway them back to Bush. They were very concerned that Bush "was taking away their social security money". I am beside myself, and really need to convince them, in simple terms, to vote for Bush, this time. FYI-I'm in Wisconsin, a swing state.
Ask them if Bush took their SS money away in his first term.
Kerry said that he would force Russia to give up its nuclear-bomb materials.
They can't spend their Social Security checks if that jacka$$ manages to start a nuclear war with Russia.
I don't know if reason can stand up to fear. It's a damned shame, too.
Do you have children? Ask them if your children's future is more important to them than their fears about money.
Since they are Democrats, tell them that if they vote for Bush and he gets elected, it will ensure that Hillary runs for President in 2008.
That he did but then he sadi he was going to bestow "nuclear fuel" rods on the mullahs in Iran.
Color me incredulous.
My parents are very simple people. The really don't care about Russia. They care about their own little world. Remember, I am dealing with lovely people who are uneducated. They take the word of Dan Blather as fact. I need SIMPLE things I can tell them to fix this issue. Every vote counts, because the Rats have already voted for Kerry 1000 times in WI. Please be kind and offer constuctive advise.
The bottom line is, which of the two of these men will keep this country safest? Which of the two is stronger in defense? Tell them that their social security and their grandchildren's lives will mean nothing....if you're (WE are) all dead.
President Bush IS going to keep this country safer.
Ask them what they were watching, since last night's debate had nothing to do with Social Security.
Get them both InterNet and CATV hook-ups, for Christmas, m. Get them a computer; teach them how to use it.
They raised you, and they deserve *the truth*. They sure won't find it with liberal-demokkkRAT, homo-butt-boy, Danny Rather-Blather, or any of the other subhuman garbage on MSMs.
I've just done this with my 80-year old parents, and they've now seen *the light*. I've been on the net since '95, and on 'puters since '82, so I had to get my Folks clued-in.
Better late than never...
Yes-I have 6 children. I tried to explain that to them. However, I don't think I did it in a way that made them understand. I have 4 sons, ages 16, 12, 11 and 6 and two daughters 16 and 7. This is really important to me!
I did that too. They said that Clinton wasn't really that great either. It's good to hear your first responses, because I think I wasn't that far off. Maybe if there is something, simply written, that I can mail to them, that they can share with their elderly friends, it might help.
They go to the "meals for the elderly". Those people live in their own world and spew forth more lies than Kerry and Blather combined.
The guy's crazy enough to threaten a nuclear war with Russia, and that's not simple enough for them to understand?
Lol -- good thinking. BTW, my grandmother (whom I love dearly) is the same way. There is no way she is ever going to vote for a Republican no matter how ridiculous the Democrats become.
I know this sounds really dumb. My conversation with them really upset me. I hope Bush's performance didn't have this same effect on many other people. Those of us who know the real issues know what a line of crap he spewed forth last evening. What about the voters like my parents????
Where have the Rats already voted for Kerry in Wisconsin?
