Politics reunites Nirvana (no it is not about gun safety)

Win or lose, Sen. John F. Kerry [related, bio] has pulled off something people have tried to do for more than a decade: reuniting the surviving members of Nirvana.

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, who made rock history in Seattle with the late Kurt Cobain, will appear today at a Kerry rally at the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas.

Grohl will perform with his band, Foo Fighters. Novoselic, an activist who authored ``Of Grunge and Government,'' will speak.

Also expected are Kerry's daughter, Alexandra, stepson, Chris Heinz, and Tom DeLonge of punk band Blink 182.

I must confess that someone else paired the Kerry and Saddam photos on a "caption this" thread AND someone else brought up a "boom stick" reference (complete with Bruce Campbell photo) in that thread.

When a poster on this thread referenced sKerry's new shotgun, I had to supply the pix.

Have you heard any update on how A Flock of Seagulls has weighed in on this election?

I won't be impressed with a Nirvana reunion until they can get Kurt Cobain back in the fold.

I'd like to see a new Ramones' movie with the band as zombies or robots. Since it would be special effects anyway, the band members would not need to live to be in the film.

Heck, people were calling them "robots" in their final touring years anyway (because of how fast and formula they played the songs by that point).

Dude did I tell you that I saw a copy of the MC5 video over the weekend? I went to NYC and my friend's roommate works at BMG (evil corporate record company pig!!!). Anyways, he had a promo-copy of the defunct and held-up "MC5 - A True Testimonial" video on DVD.

All I can say is HOLY $&%# !!!! This movie rocks, it should be seen by anyone who is a fan of rock & roll music. I guess "Brother" Wayne Kramer is keeping the video held up or something. I think it was a good film. Man the ending was really sad it was hard as hell to watch. They interview Dennis Thompson, Wayne Kramer, and Michael Davis throughout the whole thing, but at the end they say that the end of the MC5 was their addictions to heroin. It was a real tough to watch the end.

If you haven't seen this, try to get a handle on it. I'm trying to see if my friend can get another copy from BMG. He is a real weenie about copying promo stuff for me. Maybe I'm just too liberal about that stuff!

Either way you gotta see it!

Aw, man, I'm envious... I heard about this flick and that it really rocked. I saw a letter or blurb in the new Magnet magazine about how Brother Wayne is holding it up for some BS financial reasons IIRC (ah, the irony). It was written by the producer or director and he was pretty sore at Wayne. I'm gonna have to go back and read that closer today after work.

Man, if you can ever get a hold of a copy...

Damn, I have the utmost respect for Dave Grohl as a musician and songwriter. Talked with him at at Queens of the Stone Age show in LA - very cool guy. To be about the hardest hitting drummer around in one of the world's biggest bands should have been enough for one lifetime.

As for Krist, well, he was gonna run for Lt. Governor (I think it was) in Washington state. Small problem, though. Washington had an incumbent democrat Lt. Governor running for reelection. Apparently the party bigwigs had to set our boy Krist straight and tell him to get back to work at Tower records.

Just bugs the hell outta me that these guys lean so reflexively to the left...

"Have you heard any update on how A Flock of Seagulls has weighed in on this election?"

I'll ask Mike Score (FoS' lead singer) about the election later today when I see him. He's the assistant manager over the local Chick-A-Filet.
