I'll be sitting on my couch, drunk and armed. Does that count for anything?

Today my wife and I were talking about a friend we hadn't seen in a few years. About an hour later he called to day he was about 30 miles from us on business. We will have a small Bush party (with Coors beer even though Coors will probably lose) here in Massachusetts.

I haven't heard of any in the DC area, but if I felt better I might be inclined to wander down to Pat Troy's in Alexandria. Haven't heard of any happening there, but it is a pretty conservative place.

Nah, not much. Just taking my slacker step-son out to dinner as a positive reinforcement for having voted Bush. 4 years ago I was driving to Savannah from Atlanta and stopped in a Macon steakhouse for dinner. Could just barely read the close captioning across the restaurant, but remember the sinking feeling about the early call on FL as it scrolled across the screen. It made the drive to Savannah (across areas so sparsely populated you lose AM signals) just hell.

This time will be different.

Here in the People's Repub. of CA, I'll be drinkin' a cold one, along with a sidecar, toasting President Bush's victory all by myself, and surfing the alphabets on TV to watch the wailing.

"HUGE victory party for Bush to follow in the same place!"

Now THAT sounds cool! Wish I could be there!

That sinking feeling you mentioned? I had it too- I thought I was just upset about the goings on- turned out I needed a bypass on an emergency basis- four years ago next Monday.
