Classic...I hate hearing how liberal every single person really was on that show but I can't help but love Archie.
I know he voted for Bush in 2000. He mentioned it on Letterman. He also said his favorite talk show host was conservative broadcast legend Joe Pyne (and he wasn't sneering when he said it).
Sinatra ended up a supporter of RR.
That is one helluva photo...sort of makes you realize how much Hollywood has devolved into...well...crap in the past 40 years.
Ping me when you put up your film list (per your page). I'd be interested to see your take.
As others have stated, Sinatra in his golden years was a Republican and donated money to the party pretty consistently. Dean Martin was more or less apolitical but lived by conservative ideals. He and The Duke were good friends and were in films together, notably The Sons of Katie Elder and Rio Bravo (sort of a rehash of El Dorado). Sammy Davis Jr. was also conservative. Not sure about Lawford or Bishop, but they were more or less just cling-ons. The trio of Sinatra/Martin/Davis were the real draw at the Sands in Las Vegas. Wish I had a chance to see them. I'm sure they'd just shake their heads at what has happened to music culture nowadays.
Mel's an American. His family moved to Australia when he was about 12.
No, he was involved with doing benefits to get Kennedy elected over Nixon at the request of Frank, so I think he was a Democrat.
Thanks for your reply...it reminded me that I wanted to save this picture to my hard drive.
If Citizen Kane stays off the list, you'll have instant credibility with me.
I'd read that the death of his son pretty much took his joy in life away.
Dino, John Wayne, Bob Hope and President Reagan. I would love to be a fifth in that golf foursome.

I would settle for caddying with them anytime!
Thanks. That sounds like the winning answer to one of those "Who would you like at your fantasy dinner?" questions.
