I'm waiting. Got a copy of Silver sitting on my hard drive just begging to go.
Played through Half Life 1 for the umpteenth time already.
I see I'm not the only one waiting ;)
Might be a good time to call in sick tomorrow. ;-)
Used up all my sick days on being sick.
huuuu yaaa
AMD64 3400+, gig ram and Geforce 5800 (256 MB)...Doom 3 ran well, but damn, HL2 looks like it's very immersive...
Used up all my sick days on GTA: San Andreas recently...
/me AMD64 3400+, gig ram and Geforce 5800 (256 MB)
Think I found it...
The minimum system spec is currently targeted at a 700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card, eg: TNT2 etc, meaning you won't need a supercomputer to run Half-Life 2 but don't expect to see reflective water, dynamic shadows and bump-mapped textures.
The game running at reasonable detail eg: 25/40 fps, requires a 1600Mhz cpu, 256 mb ram, GeForce4 Ti or Ati Radeon card.
In real life you need the best from a new game so I would recommend a 2000 cpu, or higher 512 mb ram or higher, GeForce4 Ti4800 128 ddr or ATI Radeon 9600 pro.
IF you've got the money ATI Radeon 9800 pro. or Geforce FX5900 ultra
The more power the better but not essential with this game.
thanks...I'll have to pick this up...Loved HL..this has to rock...The guys at valve are amazing...
Now what I wonder, is how it's gonna run on 64 bit XP...I'll freepmail ya if your interested...
Be sure to check out the videos which showcase the new "Source" graphic engine!

I can help you out here too: it ain't going to run on the WinXP 64-bit edition. Valve hasn't added the code into the game. The only game I can think of with a 64-bit edition pending is Unreal Tournament 2004, and that isn't coming out until the final XP 64-bit edition comes out, which isn't happening until sometime next year.
Valve's already started on episodic content for HL2, so maybe we'll see a 64-bit edition available over Steam sometime.
How is that working out? I'm not familiar enough with that title, but I hear good things about it.
Well crap....guess I'm gonna have to slice up the drives and put regular XP on....the things we do for games (who am I kidding? hehehe)
