Somewhere in this thread, the old timers need to snort and sputter at the notion of having one's feelings hurt by something said on a thread. Personally, I'm having a hard time abiding by the "no flaming" emphasis these days. Damn! Flaming was brilliant, witty, and sometimes visceral, but you couldn't be a wimp on FR "back in the old days." You needed your facts straight, your grammar perfect, and your forehead made of flint.
It used to take a LOT of moxie to post anything other than humor threads...and even then you'd get pasted by thread nannies. You'd quietly learn how to do a thorough search, to read an entire thread, not just the first few posts (unless you're Lazamataz), and use your spell-check religiously. The flaming made for better posts and better ripostes!
