He should stay..............he's stepping on toes in the Pentagon and there are some that don't like it and will do anything to discredit him. Go Rummy!

He is one of the best SecDefs ever. We need him.
It is so nasty to take someone who is obviously doing his best under enormous stress and try to destroy him.
The left in this country are tools of evil. I don't understand what the Republican senators who are hacking at Rummy think they are doing.

Stay.....Dems know they can't get to Bush so they're going after and easy target. It's BS.
To: crushelits
Stay - Lott seems to be ready to go though.

I hope he stays.
His manner is brusque, but the press is distorting what he says to make him seem cold-hearted. They should not be permitted to control who becomes Secretary of Defense.
Bill Kristol wants him to disappear, but I guess that's what a hard-headed person wants when he disagrees with a person he knows is equally hard-headed.

I suppose they would rather have Robert MacNamara....!
Sounds like a "Train in Vain" to me.

Make him stay until he cleans up the mess he started; normally his game is to get out and blame the other guy...well now, he is the other guy. It couldn't happen to a more deserving snob.

Absolutely stay! When I voted for Bush I was thinking of his first term appointments. I based part of my vote on the people he chose to surround himself with, i.e. Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice, etc. It is a packaged deal.

Rummy should stay. The Admirals and Generals don't want the changes so they get their minions in Washington to do their carping. Maybe he should be looking to bring up some fresh talent to the top military jobs who believe in what Rummy is doing.
That said I was upset he didn't take the time to personally sign the condolence letters. How often does he show up at Walter Reed?

Stay...Use more caution when answering public questions. His answer was the truth but the wrong answer. Had he been on his toes the "correct answer" would have been...We inherited the army we now have and the deficiencies take a long time to overcome...

Don Rumsfeld is the brightest light in Washington IMHO. The President is lucky to have him and so are we Americans!
