Word For The Day, Day, Date
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

adj : intrusive in a meddling or offensive manner; "an interfering old woman"; "bustling about self-importantly making an officious nuisance of himself"; "busy about other people's business" [syn: interfering, meddlesome, meddling, busy, busybodied] Marked by excessive eagerness in offering unwanted services or advice to others: an officious host; officious attention. Informal; unofficial. Archaic. Eager to render services or help others
Etymology: [Latin officisus, obliging, dutiful, from officium, duty. See office.]
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

I think the ex-pres, overdue for his dirt nap, is an officious, obnoxious boob.
i am in such a good mood today. xsteen burned me a CD with a bunch of songs on it. she knows my varied and eclectic taste in music and i just had this huge grin on my face driving in this AM, as i heard Hungry like the Wolf, followed by My Woman from Tokyo, Walk this Way, Hit me with your Best Shot, Happy Jack, she had a few early Madonna songs on there, which i love. AWB Only a Schoolgirl Crush, She Blinded me with Science. IT was hilarious to go from one of these to another. i can't wait to see what else is on it, on the drive home. She did sneak a Michael Jackson song on there, which ihad to laugh bc she did it to spite me, since i specified that i didn't want MJ at all!
