I saw the first film, never saw the second. That aside, if you can play other regions of DVD, you may look for a British or even Australian DVD that you prefer...
The Australian DVD of Akira came out with the 1980s dub soundtrack as WELL as the modern dub soundtrack as WELL as the new Japanese subtitles plus some bonus materials (making of, etc.). Since Australia lags behind some release schedules, they try to go the extra mile for some titles to differentiate their product.

Well considering anime DVD, including boxsets, have come down in price in the U.S. to the point where buying domestic is a pretty good deal. My problem is that Dreamworks has released an inferior quality DVD of a excellent movie.
