Dancing is downright painful for me. I don't do it well. I have never aspired to do it well. I don't enjoy it. Fortunately my second wife feels the same way.

I've played baseball for decades, football, tennis, body surfed... a lot of things that require coordination. When it comes to dancing, I have six left feet.

I could certainly identify with the President as I saw him rocking through the motions. I've had that same 'green' look on my mug more times than I'd care to remember.

He stood up well under the call for him to go through the motions. I thought he and Laura looked quite lovely together. It made you realize that they love each other, and most likely reminded marrieds, that they have someone in their lives that they also love very much.

I do believe there may have been a few moments during the Clinton years, when they looked at each other recalling the spark that once brought them together. With the Bushes, you get the feeling they are in love each and every day.

I like that.

I remember reading before the 2001 Inauguration that W had taken dance lessons so he could get through ceremonial duties. Apparently, he can fake about 3 steps before he gets totally lost.

Laura would obviously make the ordeal easy for him, but I've been wondering about that young servicewoman he danced with? I wonder if she figured out that he was doing something he'd really rather not just to honor her and the rest of the troops. Or maybe she was getting hazardous duty pay. :-)
