MADONNA ditched her pal Debi Mazar when Mazar expressed doubts about kabbalah, and now the Material Mom is cutting off family members who won't follow her spiritual path. Foxnews.com reports Madonna no longer lends a helping hand to brother Christopher Ciccone, who worked for her Maverick Label for years. Nor is she speaking with siblings Martin, Anthony, Paula, Melanie, Mario and Jennifer Ciccone, because they won't join the mystical movement. Brother Christopher, always the closest to the singer, is said to be "struggling."

I thought the Quabbalah was a form of Jewish mysticism - the Tree of Life, Gematria, and all that stuff. When did Madonna convert to Judiaism? Does she even speak Hebrew?

She hasn't converted to Judaism, and this isn't the genuine Jewish mysticism. It's just some foolish celebrity "religion."

Remember her record, "Pappa Don't Preach"? Now who's self-righteous? Ah, the irony.

sorta like Festivus or Kwansa

Oh. One of those.
Actually, the real Quabbalah would be more... interesting, but its probably too strict for a Hollyweirdo and too hard for a mediocre intellect. Ritual Purity, a good, fluent grasp of Hebrew; a solid scholarly understanding the Talmud and various other writings; I mean it is REAL work.

Yeah, we need to stand up for the legitimate "Jewish mysticism".
That other stuff is simply sacrilegious.
To: Little Ray
It is always real work when one does not follow the Bible.
That Bible stuff is just too simple.

I've always had a great deal of respect for the Jewish faith, including their lack of proselytization and their desire to discourage conversion unless the community is sure that the would-be convert truly wants to be Jewish and is not doing it for the wrong reasons. I haven't studied anything of Quabbalah since college, but from what little I remember I can be sure that none of the folks practicing this "religion" would have a chance of living up to the behavioral standards that the original adherents strived for.

I'm usually totally against anyone becoming a muslim fundie, but in Madonna's case , I'll make an exception.
Anything that will shut her up and put a bag over her head can't be all bad./sarcasm.
