You might be a redneck if you've ever stabbed a sibling in a fight over food...

Why call the police?
She is lucky they didn't show up and start shooting.
People should only call the police as a last resort.
I would have beat that kid's @ss, and grounded him for a year. Can't parents discipline their own kids nowdays with out getting law enforcement involved?

My son once (at age 5) took a chain across the street to hit another boy with. Fortunately, I saw him and stopped. He had a temper back then. The nickname "Link" has stuck ever since.

That is series and I hope they take a hard look at the parents, too. What the heck is the kid doing packing a knife like that? Er.. I doubt the knife had a nine inch blade. Maybe the entire knife was nine inches if you include the handle. Since it was a folding knife the blade was probably more like four inches.

If this is a simple situation of siblings, why did mother call police instead of just taking daughter to hospital?
To: Fan_Of_Ingraham
I was on the receiving end of a fork in a brother/sister fight over a pork chop (it was hardly even a scratch... I did worse to him through the years). We laugh about it now.
But a 9" knife blade is not funny.

Lots of kids brink "Bowie knives" to the dinner table these days.

when we were kids m e and my brother would beat aeach other with whatever we could get our hands on when we were ticked off at each other the only difference is that family business and disipline was kept in the family back then becasue the u.s.a. was not the police state u.s.s.a. that it has now become

Probably a single mother from the "Baby's Daddy" era.
Question, has that era passed us or ... ?
Only children and children from families of 2 or 3 do not know how to
share. He should have used the knife to simly cut the pie in half. A couple of drinks and you have a nice snack, together.
Yeah, not a funny story... you do the crime you do the time. Hopefully the kid gets help so that he is not a danger to society.
I loved Lenny but he had to expire....

Oh, C'mon you people... I guess you have to be a South Park fan to see the humor in this. Or a troll. I vote for "troll."

I remember my big sister chased me with a knife one time. I grabbed a barstool and held her off like a circus animal. All of this was witnessed by my best friend. My sister wouldn't have done anything, she was trying to intimidate me...but if my kids ever did it they wouldn't see the light of day for WEEKS.

My father was an electrician. He used black electrical tape.Thank goodness for that. I thought you were going to say he cauterized it with a hot wire.
