I gave my first boyfriend the BORN TO RUN album. Oh my, I'm getting so old!!!!
My 8-year-old had U2's latest on his Christmas list. I was, like, "Hey! That was my band!" Trippy.

I wouldn't be surprised if, at the last minute, when no one submits any bids, Bruce Springstein himself chooses to buy the whole set just to save himself from the insult of no one buying his records.

I hated Bruce even before I found out that his political beliefs suck as much as his music. It would bother me knowing that I bought anything that put money in his pockets.

My 12-year-old had Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Jethro Tull on his list. I'm hoping his tastes stay this way, but I'm not optimistic.

Boo Hoo. No sympathy from me.

I took my wife (then girlfriend) to see him live when the tickets were $8.50 a head.

Not much chance. All the lefties are busy DL'ing & swaping his stuff for free. You don't think they'd actually spend their own money, do you? That's not what libs do.

IIRC, the best rendition of a Springsteen song was "I'm on Fire", as sung by Elmer Fudd. I forget who the artist or comedian was.

A couple of my friends have children that age, and they love coming here because of "all the cool music". So, when I hear something "new" and think it stinks, I've realized that it's not my advanced age, it's because it's true.

Springstein and Couger are R&R Icons. I love 'em but my vintage collection from these two artists is complete. Perhaps this guy's hatred would be better sated if he were to lay his cd collection on the road and drive a farm tractor over them. That'd show em!
Libs spending everyone elses money? Chew on this. Eighty three Billion dollars the first time around, accompanied by a shady, no bid contract given to a corporation with close ties to the very powers which instigated the Iraq war in the first place. Then, repayment of these Billions of American dollars, which was originally supposed to be "repaid by Iraq's oil profits" is written off not by the American people to which it is owed, (Dems and Pubes alike) but by the same powers who allocated said Billions for the same corporation which is receiving the bulk of these Billions. Apparently that was not nearly enough because now that they have seen how easy the first one was, they are going to do it again.
No doubt there are many who claim this is all justified by the supposed "war on terror" and that questioning the integrity of that concept is just plain anti-Bush or unsupportive of our kids in harms way (totally disregarding who put them there or why, really) and therefore, anti-American, un-patriotic or what-ever. Oh sure, tax cuts are nice. Nobody I know of enjoys paying taxes, my self included. Hell, I hate paying my light bill but nothing is free. The fact is, unless I have a sufficient income coming in on the one side I can not meet the demand of the other. The lights would simply have to go out.
In regard to Haliburton, Iraq, Afghanistan and the middle east...where are all these Billions of Dollars coming from and how much time will we have to repay them before somebody shuts our lights out?

$1000 for $400 worth of albums! If he hates him that much, why doesn't he destroy them?

If everyone limits the art they like to those artists whose political opinions they agree with, they're going to be left with a pretty small pool of talent to choose from. I, for one, am looking forward to the new Springsteen album and tour in April. I couldn't care less about the political opinions of musicians or artists - I buy their stuff based on the quality of their product.

Kudos. And you're right. But sometimes it depends on why one likes an artist to begin with. Mellencamp, Nelson... shockers!

Eighty three Billion dollars the first time around, accompanied by a shady, no bid contract given to a corporation with close ties to the very powers which instigated the Iraq war in the first place.

The late Senator Everette Dirkson is said to have made this comment regarding the government and money: "A billion here, a billion there. Pretty soon you're talking about real money"

The only time I hear a lib complain about the Feds spending too much money is when it's not a lib doing the spending. 83 billion is chump change when it's being spent on a looney left cause. Anyone remember "midnight basketball?

If you care to do any real research [other than the boilerplate Dem talking points], you will note that the Clinton administration handed no bid contracts to Halliburtin, also. A high up in the Clinton budget office said that there are numerous circumstances that are necessary and allow for no bid contracts & that the current complaints regarding Halliburtin are without merit. You would also note that much of what Halliburtin does cannot be done by any other company in the world.

6 years after the date Clinton said we'd be out of Bosnia, we are still there. Care to figure that $$ up?

Do any of you libs give a crap about the incalculable damage done to lives and property by the 9/11 attacks? You want to talk about money?? Ask the orphans how to calculate in dollars the damage done to their lives by terrorists that Bill Clinton was given the oportunity to get several times and turned down the chance.

Care to calculate the cost of lives saved since 9/11 because we went on the offensive and put major hurt on terrorists? Do you honestly think that the reason there has not been a second 9/11 scale attack on OUR soil is because we have been lucky? Could you even consider the possibility that, among other benefits, our activities in Iraq have drawn organized terrorists there and we are killing (yes, isn't it awful- killing) them before they can do more damage here and elsewhere?

Perhaps if some of the left could come out from under their tin foil hats for a while, they might actually conceive of the idea that those who disagree with them are not automatically the Devil's spawn.

Actually, he's lowered the opening bid to $75. Still no takers though. (Personally, I'd list the box set only, and take the others to a local used CD store. Less hassle, and you'll probably end up with the end total.)

Oh, and we get a shout-out on the listing too.

Hilarious! Especially that last line.

Now if only one of my favorite fiction writers would STFU...

Just picking out one point: "...no bid contract given to a corporation with close ties to the very powers which instigated the Iraq war in the first place..."

1. Halliburton was the only company who could meet the parameters set forth for the mission.

2. I see. And what provoked the Iraq War?
