Pornography is about masculinity in the same way drag queens are about femininity.

It's sad how completely you have bought into the message of feminism, and you probably don't even know it.

I said much of what you posted here,to the other thread, where it did NOT belong.

Unfortunately,Lauralee either begins threads about things she knows less than nothing whatsoever about and/or is playing at not knowing anything at all about,or replies to threads with completely ill educated (one might as easily say UNEDUCATED!) or talks about things that she does seem to know about, but due to her supposed age, couldn't possibly know about.Either way, this is a problem!

Okay, Lauralee, here's a brief history of pornography...

From the dawn of mankind, there has been pornographic sculptures, paintings, paintings on vases, pottery, gnetsky (sp?),cartoons, coins for whore houses, papyri, cuneiform clay tablets, books, and live sex shows. Even THE SONG OF SONGS,in the Bible,is porn;coming as it does, from even earlier Sumerian/Babylonian poetry.

The ancient Egyptians,Greeks, and Romans had vast public libraries and private ones too. ALL BEFORE GITENBERG EVER LIVED! And before the printing press, there was woodblock printing. Prior to that and even long after the invention of the printing presses, monks copied books, but so did all kinds of other people;including Muslim scribes! The word scribe comes from the Latin word scribere,BTW.meaning to write. There are other meaning, for scribe, besides writer and copyist;one meaning to carve a block of wood. That's referring to wood block cutters, who cut wood, in order to PRINT the written word and illustrations.

Now,instead of telling other posters to shut up and call them idiots and retards and stalkers and rude, because they reply to you with relevant, salient, cogent, educated, well thought out refutations for your posted drivel,go plunder the nearest library and at least try to educate yourself!

Feminism NEVER sexually objectified women. Neither did it bring about rampant pornography!

And the sexual revolution made women not worth marrying.

Instead of wasting bandwidth on FR,why don't you talk with your parents? Or don't they know much of anything either?

I am not even going to bring up "pillow books". That would likely blow her mind.

Why does every generation think that they are the first to discover sex?

Oh gee...whyever not? Pillow books need to now be part of her education!

But we could start out slooooooooooooooowly and discuss "THE PERFUMED GARDEN" and "THE KAMA SUTRA" and Ovid's "ART OF LOVE",before we hit the hardcore Japanese stuff. :-)

A course on Elizabethan songs. Many which would get this post pulled if I copied them here.

At some point we will need to include "The Lustful Turk".

Or we could do some of the bawdy BARD's things. Personally, since I did play Kate twice, the whole bit about the wasp and asses and three legged stools would suit and I still remember it by heart.

Is it NOT "porn" because it's Shakespeare,I wonder.

Or we could deconstruct "GATHER YE ROSEBUDS WHILE YE MAY".

Or maybe we should plunge right in and post the originals of " SLEEPING BEAUTY",et al and explain the sexual significance of Cinderella's shoe.

If they are putting it on display, it ceases to be intimate, by definition

Intimate can mean private, but it can also just mean "close" (especially emotionally or sexually). Privacy is not necessary for intimacy.

In any event, the term "being physically intimate" could be replaced with "f---ing," as in: What about "art depicting the beauty of two people f---ing?"

You may feel differently when you can honestly sing these two songs:
http://persweb.direct.ca/fstringe/oz/i4352.html#Y

I feel pretty, oh so pretty

I feel pretty,
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and bright
And I pity
Any girl
Who isn't me tonight

I feel charming,
Oh so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel
And so pretty
That I hardly
Can believe
I'm real

See the pretty girl in that mirror there
Who can that attractive girl be?
Such a pretty face,
Such a pretty dress,
Such a pretty smile,
Such a pretty me

I feel stunning
And entracing,
Feel like running and dancing for joy
For I'm loved
By a pretty
Wonderful boy!

Have you met my good friend Maria,
The craziest girl on the block
You'll know her
The minute you see her
She's the one
Who is in an advanced state of shock

She thinks she's in love,
She thinks she's in Spain
She isn't in love,
She's merely insane

It must be the heat,
Or some rare disease
Or too much to eat,
Or maybe it's fleas

Keep away from her,
Send for Chino
This is not the Maria we know
Modest and pure,
Polite and refined
Well-bred and mature
And out of her mind!

I feel pretty,
Oh so pretty
That the city
Should give me it's key
A committee should
Be organized
To honor me

I feel dizzy,
I feel sunny
I feel fizzy and funny and fine
And so pretty,
Miss America
Can just
Resign

Leonard Bernstein - Stephen Sondheim movie - "West Side Story"

===
http://members.tgforum.com/corafmnoir/flower.html

Ross Hunter's 1962 film of Rogers and Hammerstein's musical about life among the Chinese in San Francisco, "Flower Drum Song."

The girl in question is Nancy Kwan who early in the film gets a phone call from a handsome lad who hopes to be her new boyfriend.

"I Enjoy Being A Girl."

I'm a girl and by me that's only great!
I am proud that my silhouette is curvy,
That I walk with a sweet and girlish gait,
With my hips kind of swively and swervy,
I adore being dressed in something frilly
When my date comes to get me at my place.
Out I go with my Joe or John or Billy,
Like a filly who is ready for the race!
When I have a brand new hair-do,
With my eyelashes all in curl,
I float as the clouds on air do --
I enjoy being a girl!
When men say I'm cute and funny,
And my teeth aren't teeth, but pearl,
I just lap it up like honey --
I enjoy being a girl.
I flip when a fellow sends me flowers,
I drool over dresses made of lace,
I talk on the telephone for hours
With a pound and a half of cream upon my face!
I'm strictly a female female,
And my future, I hope, will be,
In the home of a brave and free male
Who'll enjoy being a guy,
Having a girl like me!

Of course, care must be taken to separate porn from erotica.

The best description I have ever heard is that porn is about the act and erotica included the emotions and the story behind it.

That's an interesting definition, which I hadn't heard/read before. Still and all, uncoupling sexual acts from emotion,in order to make it porn and the other erotic, would not preclude the emotional type from being labeled as obscene. And it is the obscenity laws which banned both;in our recent past.
