There were so many clever parts in that movie. I think Rickman was hilarious in delivering his lines. Some of the lines that jump to mind are:

Sir Alexander Dane: By Grabthar's Hammer,... ... ... what a savings.

Sir Alexander Dane: You're just going to have to figure out what it wants. What is its motivation?

Tony Shaloub was funny too-

Fred Kwan: That was a hell of a thing.

Sir Alexander Dane: Could they be the miners?
Fred Kwan: Sure, they're like three years old.
Sir Alexander Dane: MINERS, not MINORS.
Fred Kwan: You lost me.

I still have this thing that I don't know what it is but my aunt gave it to me.
Follows me everywhere somehow.

I'd see it, but I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

Somewhere on the 'net, you can actually find the game to play on-line. If I remember correctly, you can get to it from the movie website, which I can't recall.

Heck, just Google it, I'm sure you'll find it!

When?

Let's see. Will Smith has made a reasonably good transition, and Ice-T is more than credible on "Law & Order: SVU".

Seems pretty good. But it does seem to emphasize Trillian/Arthur (which wasn't in the book). And Marvin is all wrong. He should be a human sized plain robot. BTW- Marvin is the best.

It says that the effect of drinking a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick. The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one, and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterward.

That would explain what happened to Ted Kennedy

I've never read the book, although I've always wanted to. During LOTR, I found myself looking for stuff in the book, little things that I liked that PJ just didn't put in...

I'm thinking of just watching this movie first, before reading the book, so I can just enjoy it and not be constantly looking for stuff...

Hi, 2JM.

Good grief! All the gals are online this morning. You, Wneighbor, and snippy. And rats, I have a ton of work to do so I can't stay long.

I love Hitchhiker, but it's not in the same league with LotR. Hitchhiker is a cult classic, but it has absolutely no redeeming social value or moral message. It's a total spoof of science fiction a la Monty Python. It should be a fun time at the movie.

I wish I were still in my twenties, so I could enjoy the movie more. It's getting hard for me to stay out late on the weekends. LOL

Sounds great! I've heard Hair and others in the Hole talking about it for so long and I kept meaning to check it out from the library...

I love Monty Python!

Steve and I saw the trailer on TV and I turned to him and said "I'd kinda like to see that!" He said "Me too." Maybe we'll get a babysitter...for the first time ever!

Heh, I have no idea why, but OK!

I think it will be fun to go see it not knowing anything about it...I love the LOTR movies but it was distracting at times knowing SO much about the books...I think I read the entire trilogy what? 12 Times? Just between the FOTR and TTT!

Actually, I'm glad you are seeing it untainted so I won't explain the towel. It will be interesting to compare our opinions and observations.

Work summons me! It's been good talking to you again.
