Why has "The Savage Nation" been removed from XM Radio?

Posted on 03/11/2005 7:15:23 PM PST by Echo Talon

I just got my XM Radio hooked back up and was wondering why Michael Savage's "Savage Nation" has been removed from the lineup? I don't listen to his show often just every once in awhile.. If anyone knows whats going on let me know. Thanks

I heard a message on Channel 166 that sounded like it was Michael Savage's doing, but I only caught the tail end of the message

I love XM radio and America Right, I just wish Rush Limbaugh would sign on to XM. I have three XM Radio's, one of which is the new XM ToGo and I love it

XM is cool. I'd never buy another vehicle without it.

I'd bet it's because he's NUTS ---- and his insane rantings have grown weary!

But that's just my guess.

I bought the Sony model whem they first came out, I used in my Truck and my shop, then I bought the Delphi SkyFi model for my car and home, then I decided to buy the new XM ToGo and leave the SkyFi at home all the time. I mounted a special antenna so I could keep it here in my basement computer room (The Dungeon)

I really like the Delphi ToGo model, it works very good as a portable

The announcement that I heard, said to contact Michael Savage, and it sounded like it wasn't their decision. I just checked XM's website and there is no information about his departure

That is very possible! :D Sometimes I get in the mood for a good rant though... :)

He's off the website. It looks like Rusty Humphries was on at 5pm (ET) and Michael Reagan was on at 10 pm. I guess Savage was in-between. Now Reagan is on at 6 and Rusty is on at 9.

i guess because he is possibley the most self centered egotistical dolt to ever express an opinion over the air waves and via publication.
i.e.
he truley believes he invented the u.s. savings (war bond)
idea and wonders why he is the only one to ever "understand "
his self serving rantings.
WHAT A DOLT! and i have never ever heard anyone so in love with himself in my entire life, he almost begs his loyal listeners to continue throwing rose petals at him over the air waves. i gave his show 2 months and couldn't take it anymore.

thanks, yes I know... Michael used to upset me on a regular basis and was seriously questioning his sanity. I only listen to his show maybe 1-2 times a month just to see what hes talking about. I just thought it was weird that the message said something about Michael asked to be removed from the lineup... That sounded very strange! Don't radio personalities want to reach as many people as possible? Maybe it was a dispute over money? I just don't get it.

I don't listen to Savage at all. This is a weird time for him to do this because he's hawking a book right now. He's weird and emotional but his business decisions aren't stupid.

On his show the other day a caller mention something about this to him and he went wild talking about calling his lawyers. From what I got out of it MS didn't even know he was being aired on XM? Maybe he had it pulled because it was pirated?

He said the other day that he wants to preserve normal radio (and not go with the latest tech.)and that he's boycotting XM because it's not regulated by the FCC. He was also looking into suing anyone giving out his show on a podcast.

like everything else in life
1, everything in moderation
2, theres no telling for taste.
3, kerry still sucks.

M.S's show is on here in st. louis from 9pm to 12 midnight
so since i work till 1:30am i really did give his show a good try. i agree he really can work himself into a frothing rant at the drop of a hat.
have a good night.

Some of us live for the frothing rants, though. It's all a matter of taste. Some people like the PC type hosts or the ones that tow party lines because they've been so accustomed to that by society. They begin to feel uncomfortable with Savage when he goes off about something.

I, personally, listen to Savage only because I feel he's the only one on talk radio that says what he feels and tells it like it is.

It's all dependent on what you like. I enjoy the fast pace, the rants and the topics he covers. And, believe me, I'm the only one in all of Ireland who listens to him, probably.
