As of 3/13/05, Mario Vasquez withdrew, leaving Nikko Smith of St. Louis as one of the final 12 contestants.

This is a web exclusive!
He must have gotten in trouble. Not a big fan of either.
Ohmigosh, do you think we'll find out why? He was doing very well I thought, really a natural performer.
This is the first time I've actually watched American Idol. I'm enjoying it very much. Say what you like against it, but it is basically just some clean entertainment. Oh, they are a little racuous during the audition weeks, but there is no encouragement of back stabbing amoung the contestants, no silly or degrading stunts, and just some talented folks singing. In fact, I like everyone so much I haven't voted for anyone yet, just can't pick one over another.
This show and The Greatest Race I find very enjoyable.
Excellent. Mario was "over-rated." I thought Nikko was pretty good. He's not as good as Bo Bice or Anwar, but I'm glad to see him back.
As for the girls....Carrie Underwood. Hands down!
I agree except Nadia (little Tina Turner) is really good too. Carrie is nice and wholesome and that goes far for me. Except Carrie should just stick with the country edge, her Janice Joplin attempt almost blew it for her.
I have seen rumors on the web that 2 of the 12 idols are gay, Anwar is one and Vazquez is the other, but those are rumors on some other forums.
Nikko Smith is awesome and got completely screwed last week. Hopefully he'll get a fairer chance now. Plus his dad Ozzie Smith is one of my all time favorites.
How did Nikko get screwed. The votes are what they are. Unless someone is screwing with the tabulation. Smith just didn't get the votes.
He can sing but not alot of pizazz. IMO
I agree. While I think the men's group is very talented, much more so than the women's, Nikko was definitely at the top of the list. Excellent voice. Scott Salvo and Constantine especially, are nowhere near his caliber.
Saw this on Zap2it. Very weird. My first thought was that Mario has baggage. I didn't like Nikko in the beginning, but I'm glad he's getting another chance--he deserves it.
Ping to ya! Thought you might find this interesting news. :) I know I'm happy about it.
Mario Vasquez withdrew, SOURCES: Did not want to be tied to exclusive IDOL contract...
Agreed. Ever since he told Randy Jackson, after a critique, "he should stick with rap", Mrs. Suhks and I have felt he was a classless hack. It was a racist remark at worst or sour grapes not fitting an Idol at best.
Not to mention he is a sub-par singer.
You should hope no one ever starts a rumor on the internet about you.
Not to mention he is a sub-par singer.
Actually, this was addressed on the results show of that week. Constantine didn't make that comment...Ryan Seacrest did and owned up to it on the results show. Because the camera was on Randy, the audience only heard the comment, not who said it.
Just goes to prove, DON'T believe everything you hear. ;)
Not a big fan???!!!...he was the favorite to win...you read it here first, this is my speculation....He's been signed to a record contract already by another label. Who needs to be owned the the American Idol Franchise, playing the Thanksgiving Day Parade if you can be a real legit performer. He's good enough, charming enough and has the right look. You mark my words, this is what happened.
