I looked into KEM. He's with Motown (which is a part of Universal) Records, along with Stevie Wonder, who performs with him on his new album. It's currently #21 on the The Billboard 200 Chart and #3 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Album Chart. I guess that's better than Fantasia.
Carrie looks gorgeous!
I thought Tamyra Gray was very talented. She should have made it farther than she did, but she has made several TV appearances. She is doing just fine, but where is Justin?
I still can't believe that Mikalah got into the top 12. Did all three judges give the nod to her?
Yes, it probably is, although she only has one album out (with the huge publicity from AI), and he has four.
Yep. For some bizzare reason, she kept getting good reviews from them for a long time.
Tamyra appeared on Broadway for awhile and on that short-lived Fox series about an inner city high school. But her CD has failed spectacularly. As for Justin, his career is going nowhere at all. Last I heard, he was doing some kind of talk show gig on VH1.
Yes, I am so surprised Hollywood didn't snatch Justin up after that fantastic acting performance in "From Justin to Kelly". (end extreme sarcasm)
The singles by Carrie and Bo are not in the Hot 100 top 50. If they debuted on the chart this week, it would be below that spot.
Kelly's "Behind These Hazel Eyes" holds at #6, "Since You Been Gone" holds at #9, and "Breakaway" actually moves up five spots to #33 after 43 weeks on the Hot 100 chart.
Fantasia's single "Free Yourself" moves up one spot to #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart
I would love to see the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart, but don't want to pay $20 a month to subscribe. Sigh. But that's where we'd see accurate info as to how Carrie and Bo are doing in radio airplay.
On the Hot 100 Pop Airplay chart, Gwen Stefani holds #1 with her rap song "Hollaback Girl." Mariah Carey is #2 with "We Belong Together." Kelly Clarkson is #3 with "Behind These Hazel Eyes and #8 with "Since You Been Gone." Neither Carrie nor Bo are in the top 50 on this chart, which tracks airplay on pop stations nationwide. (Again, I'm not certain they would show up on Billboard until actual sales numbers start to come in. I don't believe pre-sales numbers at Amazon and similar sites are included.)
Kelly hold the #3 spot on the Adult Top 40 chart, and her single "Breakaway" is still #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart 39 weeks after its release. I'm losing track, but think this is the 15th consecutive week at #1 on this chart for "the little song that could."
Lastly, since we'll soon be following the country singles when Carrie's album comes out, the current #1 on the Billboard Hot Country singles chart is "Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban.
On the albums charts, as noted with the HDD update on Tuesday, Kelly's "Breakaway" moved up to #9 on the Billboard 200 chart. The AI season 4 CD is at #27.
Fantasia's "Free Yourself" moves up three spots to #13 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.
There are supposed to be a whole bunch of new releases next week, so we may see Kelly's album start to fall below the top 20. I keep hearing about a new Clay Aiken album, but don't know the release date.
ROFLMAO!!! He even cut his hair recently, perhaps hoping a new image would jump-start his career again.
Hahahahaha! I remember that guy. He was the Mikalah of last season :)
Fantasia's stuff doesn't get played except for maybe at Disneyland.
Hey! Did you happen to watch "Hit me Baby?" I only saw the last 3 performances. Thought the Motels were hideous! Sigh...I hate summer t.v.

Carrie Underwood
American Idol Carrie Underwood says she is hard at work on her debut album, which will probably be released in the fall.
She told Billboard.com she's figuring out which songs to include on the release and said she'll be in the recording studio "very soon," though she couldn't elaborate any further.
Underwood is also unable to reveal who her collaborators on the album will be. However, she said she would love to work with Idol runner-up Bo Bice, citing the positive feedback the pair received when they sang "Up Where We Belong" during the show's finale. Underwood also sang with her idols, country group, Rascal Flatts, on the show's final episode and she hopes to sing with them on her album. "It's amazing to me that all these big names want to work with me," she said.
The singer has always been clear on her intentions to record country music and she is still unwavering in her plans. She said her album will have two audiences "There'll be the country people, who are really embracing me right now and standing behind me... then there are the people who don't necessarily like country music but watched the show and liked me," she said.
Her recording of the original song "Inside Your Heaven," backed with a cover of Martina McBride's "Independence Day," will be released as a single on June 14. Both Underwood and Bice sang "Heaven" during the show's finale, and their respective versions were given to radio stations almost immediately after. Underwood's version of the song has received more than 300 spins on various stations, whereas Bice's has scored about 40. The two will perform at Toronto' s Air Canada Centre on July 20 with the rest of the finalists from the show.
Those who can't get enough of the two singers would be wise to visit eBay, where bits of toast carrying the apparition of their faces are currently being sold. Or, if you're after a more practical souvenir, a roll of tape bearing the likeness of Underwood is open for bidding.

Carrie on toast!
Interesting ranking.
Some people will buy anything, won't they? Carrie on toast. :)
