"Personal reasons" be damned. The secret is out (and so is the album).
Mario Vazquez, the guy who suddenly quit "American Idol" last week, has been "Clayed," or should I say, "Aiwakened?"
He's hired former "Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken's high-powered record-industry lawyer. And he may have jeopardized his "amateur" status by being featured on an album that's already been released.
Vazquez, I've learned, has gotten Atlanta entertainment lawyer Jess L. Rosen to represent him. Coincidentally or not, depending on how you look at it Rosen is most famous for extricating Aiken from his octopus-tentacled "American Idol" management contract with Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment last year.

Interesting. Anway, I want Anwar (sp?) to win this year. He's great. You know, the guy with the braids who Simon said was so nice they could have puppies on stage with him. LOL! I love his voice; it's sort of a Stevie Wonder voice.
I miss the days of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd and Neil Young. Real musicians that wrote their own songs. And you WANTED to hear them and you would gladly pay real MONEY to hear them. What is with this American Idol dreck? What is American's fascination with this manufactured, assembly-line pap?
Oh well, I can always go back to the old stuff.
I have not followed American Idol this season, so I have no idea if this Mario is any good.
You might want to watch Bo then.
I'm a big Clay fan too. If you do start watching this year, check out Anwar. He's a black guy with braids and a big smile -- oh, and a big, beautiful voice.
Thanks for the heads up. I linked the story to the AI thread instead of pinging the list.
It's fun to watch...that's all for me. I'd never actually buy an album though the Kelly Clarkson song Miss Independent does rock a little.
I'm of the mind that no good music has been made since the 70's bands. But, watching Idol does give me some pleasure in an entertainment perspective.
