Ms. Bentfeather,
Well, the BBQ is done, the concert is over, and my brother and sister have gone back home. We had a great weekend. My daughter played the concert wonderfully, and I am very proud of her.
When I was a little boy, 3rd grade or so, when I was sick and had to stay home from school, I played Frankey Lane over and over and over...North to Alaska,I'm going north, the rush is on. I also wore out Fats Domino....On Blueberry Hill. I would sit on the sofa and rock (I come from a long line of rockers) and sit all day and play and sing those guys songs.
The reason I brought up Franky Lane and Fats Domino is because I missed your thread yesterday and saw where someone was talking about Frankie Lane. These days he would be called Freaky Lane I suppose.
Had some cows get on my neighbors property and had to go round them up and haul them home today. So I did and got luck and trapped a bunch of cattle I had not yet vaccinated and wormed. So that is what I did this afternoon. It was cool enough, so it was nice.
Hope you are feeling well and all of your afflictions and pains are quiet for now.
Oh, yea. I wanted to tell you about our flowers. I have about 300 amaryllis bulbs and this year they were spectacular. Our roses are also. We have a bottlebrush plant which has shown itself this year. (That species hales from Australia). The azalias were somewhat disappointing this year. I am also disappointed in our irises. They have come up well, but have not yet put up a spike. Our neighbors are very nice. Our daylilies are putting up scapes prodigiously. They get better every year. They like cow manure and I am full of it.
Talk to you soon.
Jeff

Good evening, Texas SongWriter.

You certainly had a busy and joyful weekend. So glad daughter's concert went well.

I am the Frankie Lanie lover. Since I was a young lady.

Oh my, the flowers on your ranch song so lovely. And the cattle, wow your ranch must be huge!

I live in the city so my little flower garden is little, but I love it. Right now when I walk out back I am greeted by a large area of Johnny Jump Up. Little tiny pansies. Of course, when the lawn gets mowed down they will go.

I had a very quiet day watching old movies. Betty Davis, in the Three Little Foxes. Such acting. It was great.

Thanks for stopping in and reading the thread.

I am well.
