You're welcome. I was interested in hearing what people had to say about this.
I've been away and come back to catch up and the sane thread was pulled due to a flame war?
What happened and where can rational people go?
There was no flamewar on that thread. None.
Oh Come On! First of all, there was no evidence that the life of any child in WACO was in imminent danger with their lives. Reno Going into Waco would not be the same thing as 10,000 American citizens going to Florida. Back in 1991, 1000s of Americans were arrested saving lives in Wichita. Anarchy did not reign - the republic was not lost.
One of the problems is that people keep bringing up analogies as if they are moral equivalents. They are not.
It's a crying shame that David Gold is getting vicious hate mail just for taking that position alone.
Just hoping the case got re-tried from the beginning wasn't enough - he had to swallow the whole pill of lies or get called a Nazi, a death-eater, and a man who is probably committing adultery on his own wife, and apparently, a multitude of other obnoxious things.
That's what I figured.
It wasn't SBR material either, but I was willing to let that alone as many felt it was a haven. I am very upset that it has been pulled if the caliber of posts was at the courteous and researched tone I left it at.
I have never been disgusted with FR before but I am now.
Sidenote: John Gibson on Fox just showed a speaker phone where they can hear what's happening. I guess they decided to not let their viewers hear it themselves.
That's not irrationality...... that's zeal.
Happening in Judge Greer's courtroom, I should have said...
That would be a benefit to the country.
David Gold aside, how do you think the other hosts have performed?
Now that you're here, what do you think about the topic?
I have nothing positive to contribute on the topic but thank you for the ping.
Waco, Ruby Ridge, ...
You don't think it would be utterly irresponsible for Rush to use his position to advocate law breaking and possibly violence?
The guest host(?) on Dennis Prager today said, (paraphrase), that because Jeb bush said he had to follow the law, he no longer could criticize any other nation for violating any ones civil rights.
IMO Hugh Hewitt is doing the best job.
anyone of the talk show host could have gotten her out of there,
How?
There have been many questions raised about Michael Schiavo, a couple of which I personally think are legitimate, so perhaps it's irresponsible of you to have worded your question in such a way.
Same with Jay Severin... no tape but he has been condescending towards anyone who thinks that Terri shouldn't have been starved and dehydrated. A couple of minutes ago he said that the supporters of the parents are all right wing pro life zealots who can't think for themselves and who want to thrust their idea of God on everyone else.
I started off on Michael's side, then moved to the center. I'm now on the parents' side. I favored the de novo review. Rush, Medved, and Hewitt are strongly on Terri's side too but they are also opposed to law breaking and to accusing Michael of trying to murder Terri in 1990.
The best, always, every time the starting gate opens.
