From a legal standpoint, she has chosen herself to terminate her own life support. One might debate whether she really did so or not, and what does or doesn't constitute life support, but from an abstract moral sense the fact that someone has chosen to terminate their own life support does not give you the right to murder them.
You asked a very valid question. Im ashamed that our fellow FReepers feel the need to deride you rather than make an attempt to answer your question.
Allow me to make an attempt.
You asked where this "power" comes from and whether or not a judge could simply give her a lethal injection.
I am of the opinion, that neither the judge nor the court actually do have this "power" and that it is clearly judicial tyranny and an abuse of power.
Im interested in the subject very much myself and am glad you asked the question.
PS. And my own personal desire is that she not be dehydrated and starved to death.
Terri Schiavo: The Facts
1. In 1990, Terri Schiavo collapses in her home, husband, Michael Schiavo calls 911, Terri is taken to hospital, she remains in a coma, and no cause for her condition can be determined.
2. In 1992, on Terri’s behalf, Michael Schiavo sues the hospital for malpractice and wins over a million dollars, $300,000 for his "loss" and $700,000 for Terri's rehabilitation and care for the rest of her natural life. Immediately after receiving the malpractice funds, Michael Schiavo, as Terri's legal guardian, refuses approval for therapy or rehabilitation efforts and Terri is confined to bed.
3. For the next seven years, Michael Schiavo spends the money awarded for Terri Schiavo’s therapy and rehabilitation on lawyers trying to get her starved to death.
4. During this time, Terri Schiavo’s parents petition the court to relieve Michael Schiavo of any further responsibility for caring for her, and agree to accept all financial requirement for maintaining her life and rehabilitation.
5. To this date, none of the money awarded by the court for Terri Schiavo’s rehabilitation has been spent for its intended purpose, and no court has ever recognized this fact.
6. To this date, Michael Schiavo has successfully petitioned the court to end his wife’s life, and Terri Schiavo’s parents have unsuccessfully petitioned the court to save their daughter’s life.
Terri Schiavo: The Suspicions
This is such a travesty of justice it would lead a suspicious mind to believe Michael Schiavo has spent the money intended for his wife’s rehabilitation to buy the services of attorneys who then used a portion of the money to buy favorable consideration for his case from a corrupt judge. How else would you explain it?
A logical question that calls for a logical answer. From all that I have witnessed so far, Judge Greer could have ordered her ran through a wood chipper feet first and the MSM, the democrats, Sophisticate elite Freepers and the entire Judicial system would have supported him all the way.
Dead from natural causes is dead from natural causes. Dead by the deliberate actions of another, intent upon ending your life without your permission, is murder, whether administered by starvation or by a bullet.

Give me a source for that & I'll consider it. Otherwise, to my knowledge she's been on a feeding tube since February 25 of 1990. So, if you mean that she swallowed all the time up to the point she fell into a coma, I don't doubt that.
I'm getting slapped around pretty good, but the question, "By what right do you do this?" is the Achilles heel of all tyrants, and it has always been so.
To all my critics: It's a serious problem. It's analogous to allowing a liveborn aborted baby to be killed, because the right to choose equals the right to a dead baby.
I understand feeding tube removal. I've done it, I get it.
This may or may not be right in this case, I can't tell.
But an order from a judge that someone must die, to the point that food and water are forbidden-it seems like a line has been crossed.

I'm tired of the insanity. A very tiny minority here wanted Terri dead. Undoubtedly, the vast majority wanted her family to work it out. A bigger minority want Terri to be the poster child for pro-life, and they've completely hijacked this forum and nearly every thread.
Terri is going to die. There are no more legal appeals in process unless one has been filed in the last 15 minutes. It's over.
It's over all except for the backlash against those who tried to help. We still have to endure that bit of insanity.
This MSM-judiciary alliance is more dangerous than anybody thought.

From a legal standpoint the Judge is a murderer.
It's called a "post Nazi" and they've proliferated heavily in the past few days, doing everything they can to put down the wildfire of concern about the innocent woman being murdered by court order like a Jew in Bergen-Belsen, never having been tried nor convicted of any crime.

here is a source for the original insertion, which was at the time of her collapse. however there is evidence from several of her caregivers, all unknown to each other, that she swallowed and was fed soft foods. i imagine that can be found wherever other testimony regarding her is found. right now, i have to go, because i am accidentally carmelizing our supper........
