Thanks again, Jim...

I have been suspended for my views in the past. I may be suspended for my statements in the future.

I don't try to offend, but it happens often. Don't take it personally...

BUT, I just wanted to say thanks, Jim, for allowing me, and us, to have a place to vent, with like-minded, yet sometimes opposing views.

Wow, that's a concept, isn't it. People that don't agree on everything. But, most here are people that see things more clearly than the majority, it seems.

People here are able to discuss issues of the day. We are able to find obscurfe little bits, that when pieced together, weave a clearer picture of our culture and its foibles, as well as some well-deserved heroes. We have Freepers that expose fraud, help persuade voters, and even be heard in the halls of Congress. We gather small and large groups to visit, to protest and voice our opinions, and to support our country. The forum has attracted its share of fools and brigands, but by and far, it is the conservatives, and dedicated ex-military guys and gals, and their families that make this FR site thrive, and which has made it legendary, now... It is those that have thought about life, and liberty, and what they maght mean...

In this time of turmoil, let's come together with a prayer, and handshake.

Thanks again, Jim

Folks, please don't reply to me.

Instead, let Mr. JimRob know how you feel, in 100 words or less!

At the risk of not following your instructions, I am replying to you. Jim might not want a gazillion responses. My response is "what pageonetoo said." Thanks, Jim. My hand is out to you, page.

Thanks for the site. It is the most current news site that I have found.

And, the great humor here is the best.

One big thanks Jim! My first posts were therapy (my family members are still committed Democrats) with support from the FR community to reaffirm my closet intuitions derived from a life as a Democrat. I'm now solidly Republican and enjoy blogging on FR. As an expatriate black American male, I can now tell the true story of past problems and more importantly, future direction.

I have been suspended for my views in the past.

I'd sure like to think no one ever got suspended/banned from FR for nothing more than having a contrary viewpoint.

We're all entitled to our illusions. However, FR has certainly matured over time and is the best place on the Internet for conservatives to discuss the issues of the day. It's been a great service to all of us and to the nation.

Yes it is, in spite of a few self-righteous smart-alecks.

On a related note, even if I don't always agree with him, I certainly admire how Rush Limbaugh has so much confidence in his ability to debate any issue that he invites those with civil, opposing views to call his show. It'd be pretty sad if his call screener banned everyone who dares to disagree.

newgeezer:
From the perspective of yet another newbie, a couple of FReepers seem hypersensitive. In the English language every word is a universe in its own right, which enables some people to twist prose into whatever fits their agenda.

Thanks for sharing your opinion on stories, it makes for a far richer media experience. :)

I've said a lot of things on this forum over the years
that many on this board have been downright nasty in replying.

I do have been guilty of typing nasty posts.

The admin on this board has always been considerate of my viewpoints and I appreciate that.
