I'm not sure The Macerana constitutes as a "hit song" but I heard that stupid, stupid, stupid song at more weddings than I care to remember.
"Bring me quesadillas while I'm watching Casablanca/ Eating nachos grande gives me mucho gas-o-lena! Hey Macarena!"

(If what I just wrote makes you sad or angry,
I hereby nominate "Cola Balunka" for official FR song.
My God! one version is enough for Stairway to Heaven!
If you want to hear an interesting version of Kashmir, you might want to check out the album sample on http://www.william-joseph.com. Just forward through the playing stream until you get to it. I like the original, but this version was just awesome!
Let's also add the dreaded "Electric Slide"
LOL!! Okay, I'll second that!
"Puff the Magic Dragon"

We sang that stupid song in grade school. Don't think the teachers knew it was a song about dope.
' C&C Music Factory, do you mean "Every Body Dance Now" '
I used to have that tape. Sure miss it. And Hammer has a few good ones. Most rap drives me nuts though. FReegards....
I think the funniest "Stairway..." knockoff was the song that was released by Little Roger and the Goosebumps called "Stairway to Gilligan's Island".
'Twas a three-hour tour
With the Skipper and more
And they're stranded on Gilligan's Island
Here's how this story goes
Two guys in funny clothes
Gave five passengers a three hour tour
(A Three Hour Tour)
Ooh, ooh, and they're stranded on Gilligan's Island
Mate's a mighty sailor man
The Skipper brave and sure
'Cause you know that is show is so silly
Know the theme like a book
There's a moron who sings
And they're stranded on Gilligan's Island
Ooh, because of thunder
Ooh, because of thunder
There's a feeling I get
Professor's not the best,
Never fixed the boat, no one was leaving
On the show I have seen
Skipper sleeping under trees,
And the cast, whose ridiculous looking.
Ooh, this show's a blunder
Ooh, this show was a blunder
Thought they would get off soon
Sick of hearing that tune
The show only lasted three short seasons
Then a new day will dawn
The show's no longer on
And the TV will echo with laughter
If there's a jingle to your sitcom
Don't be alarmed now
Let's just hope the theme's sung by Queen.
Yes, there's a way to get off the island
But that would be dumb
There's still time to change the show you're on
And this show's a blunder.
I know you're humming the theme song now
In case you don't know
The Skipper's calling you to join them
Two ladies Marianne and Ginger
They're not hot now
This Island lies on the withering map
A storm ends the three-hour tour
They are washed up upon the shore
There walks a Skipper we all know
Gilligan's the star of the show
Doubt ev'rything you've been told
And if you're watching very hard
The tune will finally end at last.
There's seven castaways in all
To do this show, they sold their souls!!!!
And they're stranded on Gilligan's Island
How could all of you miss
Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walking'?
I have bought more copies of the Stairway to Heaven album than any other one album over the course of my life...
But I really do hate "When the Levee Breaks"
I have earworms now.
JRBC, you "still haven't found what you're lookin' for"
Wasn't that what the Dalai Lama said when his golf ball went into a 10,000 foot crevice?
"Not sure what's worse the song or that idiotic dance."
The dance.
Disco Duck at least had Donald singing. Far better than many on the list, mind you.
Cola Balunka it is!
