oh, thanks, that site has lots of info on it. actually my husband works in the field of mental retardation and developmental disabilities. he is quite concerned about the implications of this case, as we all should be. thanks again.
thanks. this is horrifying....like a c.s. lewis sci fi story.
Like I said, "Appoint someone you trust to make the decisions for you."
As several doctors said, a few up-to-date exams of Terri's brain, (when she was still alive) would have settled a lot of questions.
The key to "outing" scientologists is to start talking about psychology and psychologists. They'll go out of their minds.
An autopsy would not likely help resolve the debate over whether Terri's condition is a persistent vegetative state or if, as some neurologists and doctors suggest, she is minimally conscious and able to interact on a limited basis.
"Persistent vegetative state or minimally conscious state is a clinical diagnosis," Michael De Georgia, head of the neurology/neurosurgery intensive care unit at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, says. "It cannot be confirmed by autopsy."
George Felos, the euthanasia advocate who is Michael's lead attorney, told reporters that Michael switched his position on the autopsy in part to be able to prove his contention that Terri is PVS.
Yet, according to a Medpage report, Harvard neuropathologist E. Tessa Hedley Whyte said the brain "can't tell if there is a persistent vegetative state or not."
"The autopsy will show damage -- probably mostly scarring now -- and that damage will most likely correspond to some extent to what was seen on images," Whyte said.
Though the autopsy will confirm that Terri is severely mentally disabled as a result of her collapse and the deprivation of oxygen to her brain, Dr. De Georgia warns of reading too much into it and concluding that it shows Terri was a PVS patient.
"[T]here is no standard cutoff that says if you lose this many brain cells you are in a persistent vegetative state," he told Medpage.
Michael Williams, an associate medical professor at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, adds that "pathology alone cannot prove or disprove a diagnosis of persistent vegetative state."
What the autopsy could do, however, is help determine whether Michael abused Terri, leading to her collapse.[excerpt]
Michael "changed his mind" because Terri is required to undergo an autopsy. I have heard two things: one that it is required for anyone dying in a hospice and another that it is required for cremation. This is quite transparent.
Yes! I have mentioned it in numerous posts on FR. It reminds me of a Serpent.
THAT'S THE GUY!!!
O'Reilly interviewed a Time magazine reporter (3/30) who stated that this Cranford character has been "broadening" the definition of PVS for a number of years, along with some other neurologists.
In aint' your Daddy's PVS any more.
I kind of had some like this in mind from another old movie
Except George Felos in a red robe would be holding a bloody sword over Terri's heart
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
But then, so is your client.
I hope you wre being sarcastic about Fr. Pavone.
Felos has a book and from what I have read, he's even CREEPIER in the book than on TV!! Dr. Kervorkian wanna-be.
From what I see he appears to be a perfectly possessed individual.
Felos at Press Conference Claims He was upset by Fr. Pavone's remarks.
Is it any wonder that a minion of The Father of Lies would be upset with someone not ashamed to proclaim Truth?
Felos is not only perverted, he is completely inverted.
Fr Pavone is to Felos what Holy water is to the devil, hence the revulsion on the part of Felos towards a man of God.
God works in mysterious ways. Look what happened to OJ "defender" - gone with the wind. Next?
LOL, now you've given me yet another reason to see that movie. I just haven't been able to bring myself to watch it....just based on what everyone says.
A lawyer? A liar? that is redundant...
DID FELOS LOOK LIKE THIS WHILE MAKING HIS COMMENTS???
Yes. Exactly like that!
Did Felos quote scripture while he was grinding on Fr. Pavone???
Felos felt he had to compliment Jesse Jackson before railing on the saintly Fr. Pavone; even though both men had condemned the killing of Terri.
Probably the worst part of this whole sordid government-ordered murder of an innocent disabled woman was that George Felos actually reveled in Terri's death, and what's worse, he stood by her bedside to "comfort" her during her battle with starvation and dehydration.
I've been around awhile and I've never seen, heard, read or imagined the horror that this man placed into the heart and soul of poor Terri Schiavo. He was the man who fought so hard to get her killed, and when he succeeded he tormented his victim by standing over her on her death bed. Then he tortured Terri's parents by making public announcement of how "peaceful" Terri was.
Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King could not have dreamed up such a horrific string of events. This man Felos is a step beyond being possessed by the devil, he is the damn devil incarnate.
I think you may be right. I couldn't believe what I was seeing or hearing.
On the other hand I caught Father Pavone on the rerun of Hannity & that other guy this morning and I have nothing but the highest respect for his straight talk.
He reminds me of the rector I'm blessed with who has never given a homily that didn't ask something hard of me.
I'm not a member of the Roman Church but may God bless all our Church leaders who understand that God isn't bipartisan or inclined towards compromise.
Definition of a perfectly possessed individual:
The most extreme state is 'perfect possession', when the demon has taken complete control. The perfectly possessed person is totally lost. There is nothing I can do," says Father Martin. "The peculiar thing is that these people are usually highly sophisticated, and the last thing you would suspect is that they were in league with the Devil. But there is always something about them. It may be a look in their eyes, a tone of voice, a sense of coldness, of contempt. Some- thing inhuman. When you encounter it, you know you have met the true enemy."
"You better take that remark back." -Satan figure
Orlando deserves our thanks
History deserves to remember this man, Felos, and his contribution indefinitely. And what better way to manifest a person's infamy than to codify it in language in perpetuity.
So I am proposing to inaugurate a new word to be used from this day forth in common blogese until such time as it is added to Webster's as an official addition to the English language.
felosious (fee-losh-eyus) or felosian (fee-losh-eyan) adj.
Now we need a good definition. I have a few in mind, but I thought I'd leave it to our readers and the rest of the blogosphere to decide. So please, by all means submit your definitions and they will be posted accordingly until Dueler and I decide on the best comprehensive definition to establish. Add yours here
OK, how does the Tomas Torquemada Gentlemen's Club work?
Does one nominate the Torturer: Michael Schiavo / Felos/ Greer etc...
Or does one nominate the Torturee: saint Theresa Marie
|>> Felos is a steaming turd.|
