No cable out here in the sticks. There used to be a trick where you could use two modems, one for sending out and the other for receiving data. You need to phone lines and I don't remember how to set it up. Maybe someone else on here knows.

Oh, didnt see that. Well 28 in the sticks is understandable. Did you ask if they have DSL near you yet? You have to be withing 1500ft (or is it 15k? hmmm) of the switching office.

You can still get DSL through your phone lines ( if it supports DSL ) but, the DSL company has to do a " LINE TEST " to see if your phone lines are capable for DSL.

Also, ( if you don't have it already ) try using Firefox ( Mozilla ) browser, it seems to run faster and the web pages load up faster than MS Internet Explorer.

Have a friend on wireless that is about 15 miles from town. The wireless transmitter is on a grain silo in a small farm town . My friend and his wife had to purchase some sort of antenna in line gizmo that boosted the signal and their wallets contents initially yet their internet is screamin fast !!
I'm trying to decide if I want cable broadband or wireless........pro's or cons of each is what I seek if anyone has time.
Stay safe !
