It's a bit simpler than the author's thesis, but here's the real reason why men, even the rather debased and wimpified men of 2005, don't go to church:

Marxist dribble. Read Mere Christianity and The Case for Christ and see if you can honestly come back here with the same kind of statement. True Christianity takes more strength than you can guess at this point.
