The Hobbit Hole XXI - ...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I *THINK* I saw it at one point...but if I did, it was awhile ago.

"There is no future. There is no past. Do you see?"

"Time is simultaneous, an intricately structured jewel that humans insist on viewing one edge at a time, when the whole design is visible in every facet."

You'll never identify the source of that quote...

Did he do Coma, too?

Trying to remember what else is his.

Looking it up in IMDB... yes, Coma was his, as well as The Terminal Man. And, oh, if you want a good/cheesy 80s SF flick to look for, Runaway (starring Tom Seleck!)

How are you folks doing with the car situation, by the way? Or did I miss a post?

The car situation is this: we can get one, but we have to save up a downpayment first. So, we're renting until Rose's next paycheck two weeks from now. We should be able to get a used car then. But, since that is ShootMoot weekend (isn't it?) it's very unlikely we'll be able to make it up there.

It was a Goldilocks mouse doing a Bette Davis impersonation....I'll have to check the archives.

Me too. I seem to recall Junior saying "Put her on the plate, Pop. Put her on the plate." Don't remember the name of the cartoon, though.
