Brosnan 'will stay on as 007'
THIS IS LONDON | 27 April 2005 | Metro

Pierce Brosnan will play James Bond in the next 007 film, co-star Dame Judi Dench has revealed

The 51-year-old will reprise his role as the suave secret agent in Casino Royale, she said. "Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, Pierce will be doing it again," added Dench, who plays M in the movies.

It will be announced come the summer.

Sean Connery was the best Bond period. Unapologetically politically incorrect.

Yes, but who will stop the locust?

Call in the guy who stuffs burgers in his Bill's Khakis.

Absolutely! From Russia With Love and Goldfinger are by far the best of the series.

Lazenby might have been good too, if he done a couple more movies to grow into the role.

With the exception of For Your Eyes Only, I hate the Roger Moore films. And Timothy Dalton's take on the character was far too dark.

Very true. Roger Moore came closer than anyone else though in "For Your Eyes Only." Remember when he kicked that car down the cliff?

I think "Licensed to Kill", in total, was way to dark, not necessarily Dalton's portrayal, alone.

True, but Brosnan is second best and way ahead of the rest of the group.

The problem with the Bond films is that they have fallen into the "All We Need Is Lots of Action" mode that is so popular these days. This theory of movie-making is based on the idea that, despite what your eyes and brain are telling you, all people everywhere are actually 13 year old boys.

I like Brosnan as Bond, but Jude Law would be even better.

Moore was 007 lite. Took himself too seriously. And those leisure suits! Whoa!

Brosnan drinks his martinis with his pinky in the air. What a wuss.

Connery was indeed best. "I refer to the original brandy on which the solera is based..."

Sorry, I'm paraphrasing.

I kind of liked Timothy Dalton. As for his darkness, 007 is a killer after all.
Didn't like any of the Moore efforts save for OCTOPUSSY, which was so far over the top it was campy.

Agree. I checked those two movies out of my local library last week 'cause they are better than anything I can rent at Blockbuster.

I agree with you, Connery first, Brosnan second, then everyone else.

I love watching the Bond movies when I'm sick. They're not too cerebral and you don't have to pay super-close attention to them but they're entertaining and keep your mind off how you feel.

I had the flu really bad during Christmas and for 3 days I did nothing but lie on the couch and watch the Bond movie marathon that Spike was showing. I saw about 10 of them in a row (good way to compare Bonds, BTW  ).

"Do you expect me to talk?"
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you die."

Heh, gotta love it.
