My mother is so grumpy about the way they have 'restored' Churchill Downs that horses haven't even been mentioned in this house this year.

FOFL. I hear ya... their "restoring" was more like changing. :) I'm inclined to agree with your mother. IMO, trying to appeal to and make room for the masses is a mistake for some venerable institutions like Churchill Downs. The major Gala events, pre and post Derby, have been "dumbed down" in recent years by Hollywood riffraff. The place was just fine for 132 years.... it didn't look broken to me. LOL Smooooooches. :)

All that being said, ..... who woulda thunk a 50 to 1 long shot would win it. :)
