"During the early 1970s, the IRS conducted its own auditing sessions and proved that Hubbard was skimming millions of dollars from the church, laundering the money through dummy corporations in Panama and stashing it in Swiss bank accounts. Moreover, church members stole IRS documents, filed false tax returns and harassed the agency's employees. By late 1985, with high-level defectors accusing Hubbard of having stolen as much as S200 million from the church, the IRS was seeking an indictment of Hubbard for tax fraud. Scientology members "worked day and night" shredding documents the IRS sought, according to defector Aznaran, who took part in the scheme. Hubbard, who had been in hiding for five years, died before the criminal case could be prosecuted."

It's sad that this cult (which dupes 1000s of Americans out of their savings every year and convinces mentally ill people not to take necessary medications) has seduced another high profile celebrity.
Next time you see their recruiters on a street corner, ask them about their belief in Xenu the alien. Before you think about joining, rent Travolta's bomb of a movie.

Yup. Precisely why freedom of religion is not appropriate in all cases.
Being burnt at the stake is too good for the likes of Hubbard.

has seduced another high profile celebrity. It's amazing that intellectual powerhouses, like T.C. and K.H. are so easily seduced by this cult.

I feel sorry for this young woman. She's in love and starry-eyed. I see that Cruise has made the world-wide announcemnt of his proposal to her at the Eiffel Tower. He is using her mercilessly.

I share your sentiment, but laughing at others' misfortune does not show class.

I'm guessing she's using him as much as he's using her.

I get the funny feeling some news is gonna break soon about some gay fling with Cruise and some dude.
Everything he does lately screams,"Look at me, would a homo do this!?"

I was very glad to see Nicole Kidman escape from the cult leader, Cruise. I would love to hear her spill her guts about what actually went on with him while they were married.

Even though she's as cute as a bug's ear, it's obvious that Miss Holmes is a lackwit. First, Cruise hasn't had a real relationship since Nicole Kidman left him....his fling with Penelope Cruz was for the sake of publicity. Second, the rumors of his being homosexual won't go away, so his being linked to the female "flavor of the month" serves to push those rumors into the background. Third, Scientology seems to prey on the confused and the dimwitted.....can anyone truly call Kirstie Alley or John Travolta towers of intellectual power?
I feel sorry for the girl, but she's 26, and an adult. If she's too dim to see that she's being used, then it's her choice and her life. I just hope that being associated with both the Midget and his cult don't screw her up for life.

What type of person announces an engagement at a press conference?
Oh, that's right. They type of person who has a dirty secret and is desperately trying to keep it hidden.

If she is worth saving, she will not need saving.
Think of it as Evolution In Action.

That's completely possible.

I've tried, but she won't take my calls. Katie! I'm sorry! She meant nothing!

During a low point in my life in the mid 80's, I read some of "Dianetics." What a huge collection of unadulterated bovine scatology it is.
I found my answers in the greatest book ever written, the Bible.

Before the "healing powers of clearing" by Scientology:
After being "treated" by Scientology, covered in bugbites and starved to death. One of many deaths at the hands of this cult.
