Wow, I am flabergasted. Vasari is best known for his book The Great Master's written in the mid 1500's, which is a biography of all the great artists of the day. It has been the renaissance art bible for centuries. I wonder why he never mentioned this in his chapter on Leonardo. He worshipped Leonardo's work.
