The European Union has said it is not opposed to a $4.16 billion pipeline project to pump gas from Iran to India through Pakistan.
"Our position on Iran-Pak-India gas pipeline project is different from that of the United States," which was against the project, a senior EU official told visiting Indian journalists.
"We do not accept the hidden and secret nuclear programme of Iran...But we have no negative position on the trilateral gas project, which is still at the study level," the official said.
The EU, which has tremendous expertise on energy conservation, is scheduled is to kick-off energy dialogue at the foreign secretary level on June 29 here. The Indian delegation will be headed by Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran.

Nothing like aiding Tehran's fanatical mullahs with additional energy related profits for spreading even more terrorism world-wide.

Couldn't announce their position without a gratuitous US dig, Why?

If the Eurocrats did not take cheap shots at US we would be surprised.

I don't think that Iran, Pakistan and India needs any blessing from EU or US to build the pipeline.

Given that Pakistan is an ally that has sold Nuclear technology to China and NK and maybe Iran.
The fact that China and India are building an Oil pipeline to China and India should be no surprise to anyone. China enjoys FN status and Condi has said the US intends to elevated India to superpower status.
If you think India and China can be trusted to align themselves with US strategic interests ten years down the road then you should buy yourself a new teddybear because you're going to need a lot of comfort.
And don't be at least surprised that a lot of the financing is coming out of Dallas and New York.

"In other words, we have no integrity," he added. "It's just all about us." That's about the size of it. However if the E.U. were to ever fall under invasion guess who would be called to bail them out - again?

You are basically right but it has nothing to do with simple fact that they dont need any blessings

The teddy bear remark was parenthetical and was not meant as a slight to you'
