Have we had enough of the Simpsons?

Posted on 06/27/2005 9:57:04 PM PDT by Lord Nelson

I wonder if anyone agrees that it's time for the Simpsons to pack it up. The last 2 seasons have been uninspired and stale. Too bad Futurama wasn't more succesful. I've watched it in syndication and its a hoot.

Yes, the past two or more seasons have gone flat and stale. The writing has become trite and has become almost bitter. Also, the writing has become more agenda driven rather than humour driven. Pull the plug.

Frankly, I haven't watched it regularly for the past four years; when I have tuned in, I end up questioning the wisdom of my decision. I agree that the demise started after Groening departed. I really like the seasons in which Conan O'Brien was a writer for the show. Now, it is a waste of animation cells.

I've been getting into 'King of the Hill' lately. I do a better Hank Hill than the DVD does, and keep the kids in stitches with his/my Hillary solliloquoys.

Now, if I could master Meatwad's voice they would think I was a god.

It still has it's laugh out loud moments but not as many as in the past.

Futurama and Fawlty Towers will always be my favorite comedies. With their limited production, they will never suffer the fate of wearing out their welcome.

Did you catch the Fawlty Towers marathon this last weekend on BBCAmerica?

A "Viewers Choice" Monty Python marathon is next weekend.

King of the Hill is pretty funny. Like when he was sexually assaulted by the dolphin.

I've got Bobby Hill down PERFECT>
"dad? When i grow up, i wanna be a Mo-del!"

My husbands on the floor. Although he does a PERFECT Stewie to my Lois ("Oh, Petah")...

Um..We both have really crappy jobs and need to get into the voice-over business. Can anyone guide us?

(AND..I can switch from High pitched Joey Lauren Adams to throaty, seductive Jennifer Tilly in a heartbeat)
