I would have to agree with all of these. Sure to be an interesting discussion here.

McNabb should be number one. After last year's horrific clock management and zero situational awareness in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl, can we NOW say he is overrated??

Tom Brady No. 1?

I don't think so

So basically every quarterback is overrated except for the ones who suck.

As a Falcons fan, I'm glad we have Vick. Maybe he's overrated right now, but he's not near to being a finished product. Last year was only his second full year of play and first in a new offense. I don't think he'll ever be a classic passer like Manning, but with more time under his belt and better receivers, I think his passing will be passable given his other talents. Even at this time, if the game is close at the end of the game, Vick unleashed is a dangerous opponent.

All QB's are overrated and overpaid. Without a line they are nothing but tackling dummies.

If football implemented and level pay scale and paid players based on team and individual stats ( why else keep all these mundane stats we have to keep hearing just to fill airtime ), basically everyone makes about 200,000 a year and then start weighing in with performance bonuses, you'd see better games and less smack talking and on-field dancing etc...

I might even start watching again. Well, not really.

No. 1 -- Tom Brady: This does not mean he's a bad quarterback. He's a very good quarterback, in a perfect situation for his skills. But quarterbacks always get too much credit for team success, which is the story here. Let's see how he does this season without a great offensive coordinator.

To paraphrase Buddy Ryan, all he does is win Super Bowls.

Physically, Daunte's quite good. But the writer has Tice pegged. He's also got a new offensive coordinator this season, so we'll really find out if "anyone is an improvement over Scott Linehan."

You agree, right?

Wrong. I do wish Bruschi were able to play this year, though.

I have to disagree on several:

First of all, we have some serious inconsistency here... Leftwich and Brees are overrated because they happened to have one good season, but Favre is overrated because, despite his entire career of success, last season wasn't so hot. Manning is overrated because his team hasn't fared well in the playoffs, but Brady is overrated because his team does well in the playoffs. Come again?

On to individual disagreements -- Brees wasn't a "one-hit wonder" last year, this is what people were expecting of him all along. Finally having some depth on the receiving corp, along with everyone staying healthy, gave the the ability to actually have options, which he took full advantage of. The Chargers have a very, very dangerous offensive attack that can run or pass against you.

Favre has never been the most consistent QB in the world; he's notorious for forcing things in to try and make them happen. When it works, he's great; when they don't... I think it's more fair to say that Favre has passed his peak than that he is overrated.

The only knock on Manning is that the Colts haven't performed well in the playoffs. A large part of this is that the Colts have a strong offense and a weak defense, and are a dome team. In the playoffs, defenses become more important, and good offenses are hindered by, shall we say, slightly more lax officiating. The Colts have been knocked out two years running by the Patriots, in New England, not exactly falling to weak teams here.

Brady wins. Period. The man is 9-0 in the playoffs, with three Super Bowl titles. You can credit the team effort all you want, but then where are Drew Bledsoe's SB MVP awards? It was basically the same team then, but he couldn't get it done.

Kind of a strange list. You could say something critical about every quarterback in NFL history. I guess the author would rip Unitas for not being mobile enough.

Drew Bledsoe has a better arm than Tom Brady.

The difference is...

Brady wins.
Bledsoe loses. Bledsoe is tough, hard working, loyal and selfless... But he gets flustered and makes mistakes when under pressure.

Being a good quarterback isn't just about the arm. It's about the brain. I think Terry Bradshaw threw the ugliest passes of all time. Fran Tarkenton couldn't throw very far. John Unitas was a slow runner.

The best quarterback is the one who is cool under pressure, doesn't throw the ball to the opposing team and has the respect of his teammates. By that standard Brady is pretty good. Manning is pretty good. McNabb, Culpepper and Favre are pretty good too. It's too early to tell about Rothlesburger.

The writer is the one who is overrated.

No. 6 -- Brett Favre: Oh, this feels sacrilegious, but Harry has him at No. 3. His 17 interceptions last season were only one less than Carson Palmer's total.

Oh, shut up! SHUT UP! Maybe it feels sacrilegious because it IS sacrilegious.

No talking bad about Brett. E.V.E.R.

That is all.

Perhaps the most inane 'top 10' list I've seen in quite some time.

Brady and Manning are over-rated? Yeah and so were Marino, Fouts, and Tarkenton. And how on earth can he take a shot at Bradshaw? I'm sorry, I guess those 4 rings were flukes. This is just another idiot lokoing to make a splash and get some extra paly for his by-line. Mission accomplished. Next topic please.

No. 3 -- Peyton Manning...

No. 1 -- Tom Brady

Jerry Greene must be a HUGE bong-smoker.

With either one of these guys, you get deep into the playoffs. Guaranteed.

Why is Manning on the list? highest Qb Rating. Most TD's 49... like 9int's... not many sacks... whats the downside?
