I guess I need to grow up and accept the accuracy of that description, but it still irritates me to no end.
I hope Robinson kicks butt on the gap filler tomorrow. Not that it will stop the negative coverage, but the NASA family would have one more thing to be proud of.
I wonder if he'll have some witty description of what he's doing...I loved the comment during the first EVA about the RCC repair substance being "kinda like pizza dough...licorice flavored pizza dough."
Let's hope he kicks a___.
"...Let's hope he kicks a___...."
You bet!!! The show begins at 3:15 AM CDT. You might want to roll tape for this one.
Thje only science "training" journalists have is is what they read in press releases from the Center for Science in the Public Interest (the group that gave us the news that movie theater popcorn was going to kill us all), as well as the embryonic stem cell research talking points issued to them by the abortion industry.
I seriously doubt any but maybe 1% of them can find the indefinite integral of x in less than an hour.
But it'll take them less than 10 seconds to find a way to blame Bush for their ignorance.
They wouldn't have even looked in the past. Who knows, maybe this has happened on every flight. It would burn off, although we can't just let that happen anymore.
Can Dubya do the integration? I doubt most of those in Congress could, although there are some in the Cabinet that are certainly up to speed on this kind of thing.

Scroll down a little -- it is on the left hand side.
Robinson did, in fact, kick some filler! Woo hoo!
Thanks for the link, Ben. Amazing stuff to see and hear. Gives me goosebumps.
Mounting those new cameras under the belly was probably more harmful. The stuff observed under there probably has always gone on, but had never been seen before. Now it's a big problem.
I've heard tell that Slippery Bill changed the type of foam on the tank so that it wouldn't harm the poor suffering ozone layer. Sure glad he was on the job, eh?
That said, the STS is mostly useless. It is the only thing on Earth big enough to put the ISS components into orbit, but by the time that is done, the ISS will be obsolescent and have to be dumped into the Pacific. Meanwhile, NASA is bled white trying to keep the @#$%^&*! Shuttle flying.
Probably all true. Materials science is the main area of advance in NASA and its programs. If they can learn a little more about how their ceramics respond by putting cameras on it and fiddling with removing a spacer while leaving others that also protrude it is an advance in knowledge. Maybe they never looked at tile erosion during reentry. Doesn't seem likely, but who knows.
