Interesting! I need to look at these. Seems H&K has abandon the roller lock delayed blow back action for a gas operated. The thing looks more like a M-4 than the old H&K 93...

It is actually a gas PISTON operated system, that keeps the gas out of the action.

There are companies that are seeling these types of uppers for AR-15 rifles.

HK has has a fully (messy) gas operated system in its G36 and SL8 for more than a few years.

Yes I have read all about the HK-416. Heckler and Koch is not very civilian friendly when it comes to selling semi-automatic firearms to the common citizen.
