Ah ha...I caught one! He spelled "naught" nought; which is the English of ZERO ! No Brit would use that spelling for NAUGHT !

do you believe Englishmen are any less prone to poor word use and typos than are we Americans?

besides...
naught = "nothing"
nought = "zero"

both are archaic and, according to the OED, they are interchangeable.
