.If it were not for Dicky I think the band would of folded when Duane was killed.

It occurred to me when I learned that Dickey Betts' son is named "Duane," that there must have been something special between the two.

Not Savoy. Believe it or not, not sure about duarte. there was a guy who used to do an act called "Double Threat," a tribute to SRV which was actually pretty good. Was that him?

I've seen Delbert McClinton and Sammy Moore there (I used to work there).

I must know your girlfriend. Too funny. Tampa had a pretty good music scene in the '80s and '90s. My brother helped Tom, Vince and Andy get started on that corner. It originally had a fire pit, a tiny stage, and an outdoor bar/counter and that was it. I remember eddie kirkland. i didn't like the way he leered at the girls there. Oddly, I really wasn't as into the blues then as I came to be. I'm sure I've seen Chris Duarte there but just can't recall specifically when.

I was a bit more into the Richard Gilewitz/John Fahey Jorma Kaukonen thing as I was a student of Classical guitar at the time.

I was also not one of the many deadheads that worked there. The Jorma show at the Friday Morning Musicale in Hyde Park was pretty good, though. God, those were the days.

I worked there in 1986. did a little urban sculpture there. all the employees left their marks there somehow.

I was there when the Challenger blew up.

at that time, we had, let's see... vicki (of course), bonnie (of course), whit, nancy, fryin brian, dick, mike (consummate deadhead and about the coolest guy I ever met), a girl with black hair and green-blue eyes that I'm sorry I never pursued, and another girl, a bit older, who's name I can't remember. I had the nickname of "smokehouse willie." lol.
