What do you think-- can engaging in rape be [JW]"a social evolutionary survival strategy"?
Do you agree with this Thornhill & Palmer, perhaps in their _A Natural History of Rape: Biological Bases of Sexual Coercion_ (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2001)?:
rape is "a natural, biological phenomenon that is a product of the
human evolutionary heritage," just as is "the leopard's spots and the giraffe's elongated neck."
Do you condemn as 'evil/ bad/ wrong/ immoral' the rapes that are described in the Reuters news story below?
If 'yes,' upon what basis/ grounds do you make that condemnatory judgment?
Also, do you think a person should fear being judged in an afterlife by the Judeo-Christian God for his or her actions in this life?

"They killed a man here last night," Steve Banka, 28, told Reuters. "A young lady was being raped and stabbed. And the sounds of her screaming got to this man and so he ran out into the street to get help from troops, to try to flag down a passing truck of them, and he jumped up on the truck's windscreen and they shot him dead."

Excellent list of sources to study the effects of materialism on a society. To make an informed analysis of what you ask will take time and effort.
Today societies struggle with concieving of a moral standard that is not superceded. They do not see that when you begin to elimate moral directives on the basis of need it is very difficult to determine where need stops and want begins. The reasons for a directive as simple as "Don't steal!" gives freedom from a majority of the questions between want and need.
Even a cursory examination of what is being labelled survival by society today is ridiculous at best. True survival would have involved a lot of efforts that would have involved rainwater collection, efforts to purify water (yes you can distill water over a fire) and rationing of all food. These are simple tasks that cannot be achieved when individuals cannot determine their needs.
As to the issues of rape.. This concept of survival is pure evil at its application to reality.
